My finger starts at his peck and slowly moves down his chest to his torso. The closer my hand gets to his dick, his breathing starts to get faster. He wants me, I can tell, and why should we have to refrain from having sex tonight?

“Are you really not going to let me take care of you?” I ask, while my hands close around him and start moving up and down. “You need this just as much as I do. What do ya say?”

His eyes close, and his arms go behind his head, and I hear no more words from him.

There isn’t a chance in hell I’m going to let him leave himself high and dry after the orgasm he has just given me. I pump my hands, and don’t look away from him. His mouth curves, and when he becomes stiff, his eyes open.

“How did I get so lucky?” he asks.

I lean in to kiss him, and speed my hand up, wanting him to get his release and allow myself to watch. It’s exhilarating watching a man tip over the edge because of you. His hand curls around my head and pulls me in for another kiss right as his body tenses, and he groans.

“Holy fucking shit. I’m never ever letting you go. Might as well get used to me.”

I place one last kiss on his lips, and lay back down on his chest, knowing that this is it.

EPILOGUE

BRODIE

Everyone in the stands are silent, as Sherrie steps up to the plate. We are at the bottom of the last inning, and we are down by one point. If we can get this hit, and bring our runner on second base home, then we will win the Championships.A first for our team.

A bead of sweat drips down onto my nose from my forehead, but my fingers are interlaced into the chain link fence, not wanting to take my eye off of her. I’ve been in the position before, where it’s all riding on one player to hit the ball good enough for the team to win. I don’t envy Sherrie right now a bit. She is nervous when she bats anyway, and now to put this extra pressure, let’s hope she can focus. Deep breath, eye on the ball, and follow through.

Vanessa is standing on first base, biting her nails, and cheering Sherrie on. Last night, she was so nervous that she couldn’t even eat dinner, and this isn’t going to help either. I wish she could believe in herself like we do. She has the skill and the drive, but the one thing she needs to work on is confidence.

The umpire takes his position as Sherrie’s shoulders rise and fall and her bat goes to position.

That’s Right. Deep breath.

The pitcher winds, and her bat doesn’t move, or it’s an automatic strike.Good girl.Pitcher winds again, and she hits it, not waiting a single second to drop her bat and take off to first base. The ball is up in the air, and lands in the outfield, giving our runner a little bit more time to get home, but Sherrie gets to third base and stops.

“Keep going! Run!” I yell, trying to get her over the home plate before they get the ball here.

Sherrie runs and her eyes are locked on me as I wave her in. As she slides into home plate, the ball misses her by milli-seconds.

“Safe!” the umpire yells.

The girls run out from the dugout to celebrate their victory, and parents come on the field, rushing to their daughters. This team has evolved so much in the last two years, and have shown their dedication to the sport. I will not steal their spotlight, not as a coach. They are the ones that are playing the game, and putting in the work to get better. We are now champions.

Vanessa runs to Sherrie and envelopes her in a hug. “You did it! We couldn’t have won the game without your hit. I’m so proud of you.”

I give them a couple minutes before I wrap my arms around her, too. “Look at you, champ.”

Vanessa and I retreat to the dugout and let the girls have their moment. Their confidence coming into this game wavered, but this should prove to them they are worthy.

“Good game, Coach. Looks like we will have to go out and celebrate after the party finishes out there,” she laughs.

Now is the time.

“You have proven to me that happily ever afters do exist, and that soulmates are real. Never in a million years did I think that the woman with an attitude in this very spot almost three years ago would have been my future wife, but that’s the thing about love. It can happen anywhere, and when you least expect it.” I drop down to one knee, and open the black box. “Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife and giving me the chance to show you every day just how much I love you?”

Her hand flutters around, and water sprouts from her eyes. I see Tina out of the corner of my eye. She has calmed down a lot since she had Max.

“Say yes, already!” she screams.

“Yes, Yes, a million times yes!” She jumps into my arms, kisses me, and then I slide the ring on her finger.

Tina pushes the stroller into the dugout. “It’s about damn time.”
