His hips speed up, and he brings a hand up to my hair, pulling my head to the side, exposing the slender slope of my neck. He brings his teeth down, marking my skin and laying his claim, just as he said he’d do. “You aremyenemy.Mine.”

I pull at his hair, wanting to rip the strands from his scalp. His thrusts are so hard, so brutal, my back slams against the wall with each one. I watch as his face grows red, anger barreling through him as he fucks his aggression out. Bringing my hands from his hair down his neck, my nails dig into his skin. It’s warm against the tips of my fingers, a burning fire consuming every fiber of my being.

The air grows warm, stifling, as I gasp in breaths of air. The tension between us grows stronger, toxic, electrifying, charged with an energy that could change the world.

“Felix!” I scream, feeling my legs begin to warm, my lower belly tingling as my orgasm nearly crests over the edge. I dig my nails into his back even harder, gouging his skin until I feel it break. My hips grind against him, desperate for release. Sweat dampens his skin and slides against mine.

Felix snaps forward, his mouth sinking against mine. He bites at my lips, shredding the skin as he greedily inhales my every breath. I gasp into his mouth, my orgasm tipping over the edge, and I feel myself crumbling, moaning into his mouth. He slides his tongue between my lips, grazing my teeth, caressing against my own tongue, taking everything I have to offer and more, and it pushes me right off the edge.

I shatter in his arms, hating myself for crumbling from his touch for the second time in my life. I couldn’t stop it. I fell with just a look.

He waits until my trembling stops before he lowers me to the ground. I clutch him with sweaty palms, refusing to look him in the eyes, knowing I’ll only be angered by his cold stare.

“Hazel,” he snaps.

As if on command, I glance up at him.

“Next time you try to one-up me and make me jealous, just know that I’m about to bite back twice as hard. And the thing is, baby, you may leave a mark, but I’m going to make you bleed.”

With that, he spins around, heading down the stairs. I hear the front door open, and only then does my chest inhale. Lowering my skirt, I walk across the room, ignoring my friends as they reach their own climaxes. I grab my shirt, slipping it back on before making my way down the stairs.

Malik and Vera are asleep on the couch, and I feel my limbs give out as I fall to the cushion beside Vera, the cushion rough and lumpy as I sit down. She doesn’t even stir. My eyes settle closed, my heart pounding in my ears and nearly out of my chest. I can still feel the ache between my thighs. He was ruthless once again, and I loved every second of it.

Unfortunately, the man beneath it all will only be one thing, and that’s my enemy.

“Hazel.” My name is called quietly, so faintly, it’s almost an echo in my mind. But a nudge to my shoulder makes me feel as if I’m falling over a cliff, and my eyes fly open to see Vera standing over me.

Shit, I shouldn’t have drank so much. It always takes meforeverto sober up. That, and they hotboxed this entire house for hours upon hours. I’m fucked up.

“Let’s go do something.” There’s an eagerness to her voice, and a wicked glint in her eyes that would usually make my body thrum with excitement. But right now, my body feels like it’s weighted down with a ton of bricks and I’ve been thrown into the deep end. I might as well be floating at the floor of Lake Superior.

“I’m fucking blitzed, Vera,” I groan, my eyes trailing around the room. In the corner is a beaten-down naked mattress, with Levi lying facedown in the center.Hmm, wonder how he got back down here.

A shifting form has my eyes moving beside me, and I see Felix passed out, his arm around my back, his face toward the ceiling. Even in sleep, he looks irritated. On edge.

I take a moment to look at him, to really take him in, knowing this may be the only chance I get, ever. His skin is flawless, light and creamy, with harsh cheekbones and a stone cut jawline. His hair is tousled perfectly, still a mess from my hands earlier. The muscle in his arm is tensed as it lays over the back of the couch, and I frown at him, wondering why he’s here, next to me.

Wondering why I hate him so much, yet a sliver of my heart thumps wildly at his closeness.

I slide away from him, leaning toward Vera. Atticus, Piper, and Blaire must still be upstairs. I don’t know how much Vera knows, but I think I’m going to keep our escapades to myself for now. It was wild, and everyone just gottoo fucked up.

“Hazel, let’s get out of here. I want to play a prank,” Vera whispers to me.

Well, this is a delightful surprise. I widen my eyes, the thought of getting back at Felix in any way is extremely appealing. Vera’s face matches my excitement. I know why I want to play, but I’m wondering why Vera wants to do the same. Malik sleeps on the other side of her, and though they’re doing well, I know he’d absolutely punish her thoroughly if she got herself into some shit.

They might be the most beautiful, nauseating couple I’ve ever seen, but they also have an edge to them, like they’d kill each other if given the right opportunity. It’s a dangerous, endlessly intriguing relationship.

“I think you’re spending too much time with these guys,” I croak, my throat too dry from smoking. It feels like my tongue is cotton as it sticks to the roof of my mouth.

She smiles. “Probably, but let’s go. Go get the girls.”

I shake my head as I glance beside me, seeing Felix’s arm having draped itself even closer to me. I frown, getting off the couch altogether and stretching my sore limbs. “No, you go get them. I won’t make it up the stairs.”

She huffs, shaking her head as she walks away. The moment she’s out of sight, I turn to Felix once again. His face is a mask of calmness and relaxation, though I see through his facade, to the boiling rage that rolls through his veins. He looks dangerous against the beaten, faded leather couch. Scratches and slices in the fabric are both intentional and from age. It’s funny how a man who could buy a city sits on something so worn down.

Leaning down, my fingertips graze the soft strands of his hair, then I bring my lips close to his ear. “It’s time you get a taste of what it’s really like to mess with me,” I whisper before pulling back.

I spin around, walking to the other side of the room to the front door. When I glance over my shoulder, he’s still sleeping just as he was. With a deep breath, I curl my fingers around the cool knob and open the door.
