“It was Jackson, wasn’t it?” I breathe out, nerves choking me, making me anxious.

Rose nods, grabbing the remote and turning the TV volume up. “Bingo.”

I taste a faint flavor of copper, and I automatically release my lip from my grinding teeth.

Why would he do something like this for me? He told me that this was a mistake.

That I should have given the baby to Colton and Amanda.

That I was stupid.

This push and pull drives me mad. I’ll be driving myself crazy thinking of all the why’s and how’s. Wondering if he still has feelings for me.

Wesley starts fussing, and I snap out of my thoughts and look down at him. I’m sure he’s getting hungry. This boy eats like a champ, and I’ve barely had any issues breast feeding. If anything, my nipples are starting to get sore as hell from his constant feedings.

“I’m going to go feed him.” I mumble to Rose, still shocked that Jackson bought literally thousands of dollars’ worth of baby gear.

Did he buy it before I had him, or after? That’s the real question.

I leave my bag near the front door. I’ll get that later. I can only lift so much—doctors’ orders—and Wesley’s little red face is really starting to get pissed off.

“I know. I’m going.” I mumble to him, rushing off to my room and almost crying out, because come on.

An expensive looking basinet sits next to my bed, and Rose was right. My room has been transplanted in here, and from the looks of it, my mom has been completely removed.

“Halo.” I whisper when I read the logo. It looks fancy as hell and I’m almost afraid to use it.

I sit down on my bed and get comfortable, positioning Wesley and letting him latch on. Resting my head against the wall behind me, I close my eyes and just breathe.
