Page 117 of Chaotic Anger

I sigh. “Yeah, but I didn’t need to spend as much as I did.”

Violet presses on the gas, rolling through the gate and up to the mechanic’s shop.

“You did. You deserved it. And you look hot. I can’t wait to see the look on Aziel’s face.” Her face turns red as she laughs. “Or maybe I want to be far away. Either one.Happy birthday to you.” She chirps.

I look down at my outfit, grimacing at what I know is going to be a fight. My short jean shorts and skull sleeveless tank shouldn’t make him angry. But it will. The shorts are shorter than I would usually buy, but Violet said they make my ass look great. And the tank top has slits through the back, from the top of the neck all the way to the bottom, revealing the expanse of my back. Paired with a pair of leather Doc Martens boots Violet said I couldn’t leave without, I look hot, I agree, but Aziel doesn’t like when I look hot for anyone but him.

Violet ambushed my perfectly relaxing birthday by pounding on my door and basically pulling me out of the house and into her car. She wouldn’t take no for an answer. And even though she agreed to pay for such shopping spree, I wasn’t really in the mood to venture out.

June eighteenth is the first birthday I’ve had since I’ve been free. I’m finally twenty years old, and all I wanted to do is relax with Lilah and Aziel.

Not play dress up with Violet.

Now it’s late, since she took so damn long and got her own hoard of clothes. I’m hungry and irritable and not at all in the mood I wanted to be in on my birthday.

Violet parks in front of the clubhouse beside the rows of motorcycles.

“Ugh, if the guys are in there getting rowdy, I think I’ll grab Lilah and head home.” I moan as I open up the door.

Aziel said he would take Lilah while I went shopping with Violet. He’s been growing closer to Lilah by the day. Now they have a bond, one that I didn’t think they would get with each other. I get a little jealous at times, seeing how well they get along. I feel like I don’t get alongthatwell with either Lilah or Aziel, but somehow, they get along like they’re soul mate besties or something.

What the fuck.

“Quit with the bitchy frowny face on your birthday. If you want to go home, let’s go get Lilah and I’ll drive you back. Besides, she’s probably tired of hanging out with Haley and Aziel anyway.”

I snort at that.

She opens the door, and I nearly fall on my ass at the sight in front of me.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Comes bellowing from the mouths of about fifty people.

Front and center is Aziel, with Lilah standing on the table in front of her. He’s holding onto her waist, a big smile on his face. His left dimple pops out when he sees me. Lilah’s arms are extended over her head, her little rainbow dress swishing back and forth with her excitement.

The Seven are here, along with the regulars. Haley stands behind the bar with a wide smile on her face.

All my friends are here. My family.

I turn and look at Violet over my shoulder. “You knew about this?”

She smiles at me, playful deceit shining back at me. “Of course. But didn’t you have fun shopping with me anyway?” She pops a hand on her waist.

I shake my head at her. “Bitch.” I laugh.

She shoves me, and I turn back around and walk towards my daughter who’s dancing on the table.

“Mommy!”

“Hi, baby!” I laugh, picking her up and kissing her all over her cheeks. “Wow, you look like you’ve been having fun.”

“It’s a party!” She laughs. “Dad did it!”

I look up at Aziel, who stares at me with such heat in his eyes my lower belly starts to heat. I take a step towards him. “You did all this?”

“Mmm.” He takes his own step towards me and wraps an arm around my back. Then his eyebrows lift as he takes a step back and looks behind me. “What in the fuck are you wearing?” He asks, then grimaces. “Sorry, Li.”

Her mouth pops into a big circle. “You said a swear.”

He shakes his head. “Ivy. What is this thing?” He pulls my shoulder, so my back is to his front. “Where’s the rest of the shirt?”
