Page 5 of Tricking Mr. Scott

“Hey,” a guy with shaggy blond hair and blue eyes says as he thrusts two cups toward me and Delilah. “I thought you two could use another refill.”

He winces slightly, probably realizing the stupidity of his statement.

“Thanks,” I say with a smile, trying to set him at ease. “I’m Blaire, and this is my roommate, Delilah.”

“Hi.” Delilah waves in his direction before throwing back the last of her drink, placing the empty cup on a nearby table, and taking the cup from him. “Witch’s Brew?”

“You can ignore her. She only came here for the alcohol,” I tell him as we both laugh.

“What’s your name?”

“Peter.” There’s an awkward pause before he thrusts the other cup in my direction. “This is for you.”

Our hands brush against each other, and I jump slightly. The cup tips toward me, spilling all its contents down the front of my dress.

“I’m so sorry!” He shouts before grabbing a handful of napkins off the table, patting my chest, arms, stomach, and anywhere else he can get his hands on.

“It’s okay. I’ve got it.” My cheeks heat in embarrassment, wishing the hands groping me belonged to someone else.

“Back off, man.” Delilah steps between us, shoving him back into the table before wrapping her arm around my shoulder and leading me out of the room.

Each step I take, Professor Scott’s eyes continue to burn my skin.

“I can handle this.” I motion down my body at the wet splotches on my dress. “Go enjoy the party.”

“Are you sure?” Delilah questions, not buying my ruse for a second.

“I just need a few minutes.” I force a smile as I notice Mr. Scott make his way toward us.

“Don’t leave.” Delilah points her finger toward me and narrows her eyes. “You’re supposed to be living a little, not ducking out of the party before we’ve even had any fun.”

I raise my hands in surrender. “I won’t.”

Delilah stares at me for a few moments, trying to decide if I’m a flight risk, before spinning on her heels and bounding back to the party. I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but she’s right. It’s time to live a little. Take more chances. What better time than now to spread my wings and walk on the wild side?

I head up the stairs, toward a quieter part of the house, knowing he’s following me. His eyes caress my skin as I search for a private place for us to talk, even though talking is the last thing on my mind.

I open the first door I find and walk in, leaving it open behind me, inviting him to follow me inside. There is a desk strategically placed on the right side of the room. Moonlight shines through the window, illuminating the wall behind it, lined with tall black bookshelves covers with books and knickknacks. I run my fingers along the edge of the desk, stepping around to get a closer look at the books on the bookshelf.

“I’ve been trying to get closer to your all night.”

The deep timbre of his voice caresses my skin, causing my core to tighten, wetness pooling between my legs. His voice is sexy and deep makes my body tremble.

“Are you teasing me?” He clenches his jaw tightly as he prowls toward, making his way around inching closer and closer. “My little devil.”

His large frame towers over me, the smell of soap and cedar enveloping my senses. I close my eyes and inhale, wanting to commit this moment to memory.

“Please,” he groans as he pins my body to the bookshelf and buries his nose in my neck.

“What?” I whisper as my heart rate increases, every muscle in my body tightening in anticipation.

He pulls back slightly, allowing my eyes to take in the masterpiece standing before me, with his perfect sharp jawline and black plastic rims perched perfectly on his nose, framing his green eyes.

“What’s your name?”

I freeze, not wanting to ruin the moment. If he discovers that I’m a student, it could ruin everything.

“Salome.”
