How simple I was, I supposed, being won over with these small gestures. Still, if we were going to be married, we might as well love each other. Being in love made life easier and the sex that much better.

“We have,” I said and smiled secretively. There wasn’t much to keep secret, though. Apparently, they’d all heard us even from down here. “I think we worked out what was getting us all riled up.”

“So we’re good?” Luke asked Alexander. He was standing behind the kitchen island behind a long row of glass bottles, all of them containing alcohol or mix. He was pouring drinks, combining different ingredients for each of us.

“We’re good,” Alexander said, sitting across from Luke. “We’ll be even better if you make me a strong one.”

“Rum and Coke?” Luke asked, wiggling a brown glassed bottle. “Or maybe something like a gin and tonic?”

“I’ll take a whiskey, neat,” Alexander said. “But not any of these, from my father’s good collection.”

“And where might that be?” Luke asked, a grin spreading across his face as he delighted at the thought of drinking Mr. Remington’s prized alcohol collection.

“Follow me,” Alexander said, walking out of the kitchen. Luke followed him, and they disappeared.

“I guess they’re good,” Rome said with a chuckle. “All it took was one hell of a bang, hey, Willow?”

I pretended to bristle at his suggestion, drawing my shoulders up in a tight knot. I shook my head and sniffed the air. “Why, Mr. Venedi, a lady never discusses her bedroom activities.”

“Oh really?” he asked. He was seated at the table in the breakfast nook munching on an apple. “Would you consider showing me instead of telling me?”

“You’re a terrible person,” I laughed and slid into the chair next to his. I reached out, grabbed the apple from his hand, and took a big bite of it. I chewed slowly and handed it back to him. “But I guess I have a terrible person kink because I like it.”

“I know you do,” he said, taking his apple. He looked at the spot where I’d bitten it and looked at me while he drew it along his lips and licked it with his tongue as if to promise me how well he’d lick the real me if had the chance.

“I’m right here,” Harlow said, breaking into our happy fog of horniness. “Go get a room if you’re gonna bang each other on the table in front of me.”

I looked at her where she was standing, one hip cocked, holding a spoon in one hand and a container of yogurt in the other. She looked serious, goth, and hilarious at the same time. I couldn’t help it. I started to laugh.

“What is it?” she demanded, moving her weight to her other hip. “This isn’t funny. You’re basically fucking right in front of my yogurt.”

I didn’t know if she was being serious at that point, but I didn’t care. I started laughing even harder. Rome joined in and was in hysterics when she had to laugh as well. She was unable to deny the fact that she’d been insane, defending her yogurt in the face of our love.

“Are you that lonely?” I asked when we settled down. “I could set you up, you know.”

“Who do you know that I don’t know?” she asked suspiciously. “And do you mean with a man or a woman?”

“Which do you prefer?” I asked. “I don’t know where you’re at on the spectrum, innie or outie?”

“I’m kind of into women lately,” Harlow said and took a spoonful of yogurt. She swallowed and kept talking. “Although if you did find me a good-looking man with a massive dick and a whack of money, I might think about going the other way.”

“You basically described my fiance,” I laughed. “And my two boyfriends.”

“I wouldn’t think of such a thing,” she said. “Seriously, Willow, I don’t think of them that way. I just want you to know that.”

“I know,” I said. “I trust you. Plus, you know I’d lost my shit on you if anything happened between you and my guys.”

“Oh, I know that,” Harlow said. “And I’m not sure if I could survive you kicking my ass, so I wouldn’t even bother trying it out.”

“Still, we do need to find you somebody, so I don’t have to suffer through you rolling your eyes every time I kiss somebody,” I laughed, and she joined me.

“Fine, okay, I’ll agree to a date with anybody you deem worthy once we’re back at school,” she agreed at last. “Man or woman, I’m in.”

And that’s all I needed to hear. I would set her up to keep her from being the fifth wheel in my group. I didn’t know what to call us, even quadrouple? Grouple? I’d have to figure something out.

And I had to note that I wasn’t jealous of my men. I trusted them too, and I wasn’t suspicious of my friend, but it never hurt to remind people.

I heard Luke and Alexander’s booming voices before they came back into the kitchen. When they entered, they had a whirlwind of energy with them, excitement and male bonding that lifted the spirits of the three of us.
