“You did block that driveway that one time,” Shay said.

“Stop it,” he said, grinning at her. Lee could hardly stand to be around them. Travis grabbed his wife and tickled her, which was just too intimate in a crowd. Lee released Rosalie and took her hand in his. He could stand out of the way and still participate. Trav and Shay were far too public about just how crazy they were for each other, which he supposed wasn’t a bad thing.

“Knock it off,” Will growled, and Lee kept his smile to himself though he secretly wanted to high-five his brother and glare at the younger one. “Gretchen spent the last two days makin’ these for you animals.”

Travis lowed like a cow, and Lee had to admit that was funny. He chuckled, cutting off the sound the moment Will’s piercing green eyes flew toward him. “Sorry.”

“Where’s Spence?” Gretchen asked, tucking her arm into Will’s, which did calm him down.

“He said he was on his way in,” Rissa said, frowning at her phone. “He should be here in a minute.” She looked up. “We can start without him. I can catch him up.”

“All right,” Gretchen said, looking up at Will.

He looked down at her. “What?”

“Did you want to say something?” she asked him.

“No,” he said. “Why would I want to say something? They’re your chocolates.” He seemed so confused, and Lee shook his head.

“I’ll say something,” he said, and that brought every eye to him. “Gretchen and Will are gettin’ married in five weeks. Or so. Six weeks? Somewhere in there. She’s made us eight different flavors of truffles to sample, but she only wants to serve four at the wedding.”

“Thank you, Lee.” She shot a glance at her fiancé. “We’re not doing a big dinner like Trav and Shay,” Gretchen said. “But a candy bar. Truffles are only part of that, so the menu can’t be overwhelmed by them.”

She pointed to the first plate, but it was Will who jumped in with, “These are the mint truffles.” He looked at Gretchen. “Right, sweetheart?”

She smiled and nodded, and Lee felt a flash of victory for his brother. That was so much different than the sparks of irritation that usually flew through the Cooper homestead.

“These are raspberry,” he continued while Gretchen pointed out the next platter. “Then we have hazelnut, caramel, coconut, peanut butter…”
