“Get out of my head creep!” I shout back, laughing.

“As long as I get to stay in your heart.”

I don't say anything, instead, just thinking it.

My heart couldn't continue beating without you in it now.

I barely, barelymake it through the next two days. In fact, Linc tells me it's only been a day and a half while he unwraps my leg, preparing for us to go into the village.

“I feel fine,” I say.

When I tried walking yesterday, I'd had a slight limp and he'd immediately turned down my idea of leaving our cavern then. But today, I'm walking fine, have washed and slipped into my dress, hair tied up in a sloppy bun. I’m ready to go.

“All right, all right. But if you get tired, we’re coming back here.”

“Yes, sir.”

He arches a brow and I just smile at him. I've spent the last two days—okay, a day and a half—asking as many questions as I could think of. In summary, my government are a bunch of filthy liars, which only makes me surer they didn't honor my deal with them to let Leah go free. Linc assured me though, that Kayo was watching over her, and wouldn’t let anything happen to her. I know a bunch about the bonding ceremony and his family, and what to expect so see when we walk outside the door. A door that I’m only just now able to tell is even there beyond the kitchen. Most importantly though, is that I know Grace is out there, her mate with her, and her belly huge with child.

“Ready?” Linc asks.

“So ready. Are you sure I look okay?”

“You look beautiful.”

I narrow my eyes at him. “I don’t know if you would tell me if I didn’t.”

“I don’t know that there’s any situation where you wouldn’t look beautiful.”

I shake my head. “I see we’re trying to get fucked tonight, huh?”

“Actually, it's already night time.” He points out as he presses his body tight to mine. “So, if you want to just stay here and make good on that…”

I forgot, they stay awake during the night here. The thought is tempting. I haven't had Linc inside me for far too many days. As much as I'd tried to persuade him yesterday, he'd said I needed to recover. Now though, it would appear he thinks I'verecoveredenough.

“We'll have plenty of time for that later.” I do skim my lips across his though. “And I do mean plenty.”

I grin at him having to adjust his loincloth as we head towards the door. He takes a deep breath as he opens the door, and I wonder for a second if he's just as nervous as me.

“I am.” He chuckles.

“At them meeting me?”

He shakes his head. “At hoping you like my home and all I have to offer you.”

“I will love it, all of it. Simply because it's you who’s offering it to me.”

Then, blue lights cascade into the darkness of our cavern and I peek my head out to see my new home. I can hear laughter and conversation in the distance, and my nerves instantly rise, even at seeing Grace again. Linc links his hand with mine, urging me forward when I hadn't even realized I'd paused.

“It will all be fine, my Keri.”

We continue walking, my eyes trying to take in everything around me. The high ceiling I couldn't see in the cavern, but can now, even though I still can't even see how far up it goes, only how high the lights reach. How did they get them so high?

“Claws,” Linc answers my internal question.

“I thought some of you had fangs?” I ask, remembering the drawings I'd seen.

He smiles, and I jump as fangs drop down and rise from his upper and lower canines. Desire instantly rushes through me as I inquire, “And you never thought to use them on me, huh?'
