“Thanks, man,” Jack said.

“No problem.”

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Adela walked awayfrom the guys with a giggle. Reed was something else. She loved how both Reed and Zane welcomed her into the fold.

And Jack….

His perfect combination of sweet sexiness was irresistible on its own, let alone his dominant, naughty side, which absolutely creamed her pants every time she looked at him.

The things he did to her today. The things he would make her do…

She didn’t think she would ever let a guy pleasure her standing that close to his friends. Of course, they couldn’t see anything—but still…

What was it with this island that made it seem like an hour felt like a month?

How would Raven, Liv, and Hailey feel about their second day on this island?

Dear God, please let them be alive and well somewhere on this island.

Adela sat down on top of the same rocks she’d talked to Gabriel earlier. She took in Reed sitting by the fire pit and Zane and Jack hammering rocks on top of some very thick branches.

Seeing their hut almost finished suddenly grabbed her by her throat. She felt like she couldn’t breathe. As she peered into the nothingness surrounding her from the lookout point, a cold sweat broke out over her body.

In every direction she looked, there was nothing but ocean, sand, or trees for miles and miles ahead. There wasn’t some kind of luxurious spa on the other side of the island.

She felt it in her gut. There was nothing there.

Nothing.

She froze.

What if her friends were dead? What if the last thing they did was agree to a stupid trip that lead to their deaths just because she couldn’t handle a freaking rental catamaran?

Her dad would be so disappointed in her if he’d ever found out that his kid wasn’t able to brave that storm.

She snorted. Like she should give a shit about what he thought.

She heard the guys talk from a distance. They were really setting up camp here. They would never leave this stinking island.

Adela clenched her fists. She didn’t want to make herself at home.

She needed to find her friends and get the hell away from here.

Adela slid down from the rocks on her butt until she was almost down on the beach. No matter what the guys thought, she wasn’t some pathetic girl who needed their help.

She would go out and look for the girls herself. She would find them and get them out of here. Adela blinked when two strong hands held her shoulders.

“Adi. Sweetheart. Talk to me.”

She recognized that voice and blinked to see clearly. “Jack?”

He pulled her into his muscular arms as he picked her up bridal style.

Jack kissed her forehead. “It’s okay…”

He rubbed her back and said, “Let it all out, sweetheart.”
