After closing the fridge, she was just in time to spy the look being shared between her sisters. She grabbed her water bottle from the kitchen counter and placed it back into the fridge. Instead, she chose an already opened bottle of wine. On her way back to the living room, she grabbed three wine glasses by the stems.

“Bunny! It’s not even three ‘o'clock,” Kate said.

“Well? I’m free for the rest of the day.” Errin shrugged.

“Brennan scheduled me to go back in on Tuesday. We’re free to do what we want. You’re both here, I’m here and lookie here… This wine bottle is here too.” Errin waved said wine bottle in the air before placing the glasses on the coffee table and almost filling them to the brim.

“Well, ithasbeen too long since we’ve had some sis-time.” Kayla scooted to the edge of the sofa and threw her waist long silver blonde hair over her shoulder.

Errin grinned at Kayla as she took a glass and saluted them before taking a hefty gulp. “Mmm. I’ve missed this, you guys,” Kayla said.

Errin took a glass before sitting down next to Kayla.

“Yeah, me too. Cheers.”

The cold wine didn’t lessen her thirst from her yoga exercise, but that didn’t stop her from downing her glass in a few swallows. Kate’s eyes widened when Errin clanged her empty glass on the coffee table.

“Oh my God.” Kate giggled, leaning forward to take the last filled glass from the table. Her long, silk brown hair partially fell from her back, sliding over her shoulder to the front. She took a sip and closed her blue eyes to savor the taste.

“Okay. Time to spill the tea.” Kayla placed her half empty glass next to Errin’s before refilling them. Her hazel eyes locked with Errin’s, urging her to talk.

Errin took her newly filled glass and settled back on the couch. She placed her bare feet on the coffee table, daring Kate to comment on her nasty habit like she used to when she’d actually lived here. Kate averted her eyes and took another sip.

“Okay. I’ll tell you the tea. You know how Brennan screwed my brains out a couple of days ago. How he was all like, ‘let me take care of you’ one minute and in the next ‘you can’t work for me if you still want my dick’.”

Kate choked on her wine, followed by several loud coughs. She pounded her small fist against her chest while clearing her throat. “Bunny….”

“Yeah well, it is what it is. Can’t say I regret fucking the guy. It was the best I’ve ever had—by far.”

Kayla laughed wholeheartedly. “Sounds like a true Mills man.”

Kate held up her hand to signal it had been too much information.

“And on top of things, Theresa called today. She has three auditions lined up for me in Jersey.” Errin sighed.

Kayla furrowed her brows in confusion. “Why does that suck? You’ve been meaning to move back out there for weeks now?”

“I think Bunny might want to see what’s between her and Brennan,” Kate said before taking another sip.

Kayla shook her head. “Nah, Bunny wouldn’t put Brennan above auditioning, that—”

“Aaargh.” With a flair for theatrics, Errin threw her arms above her head.

“What? You told me yourself you wanted nothing to do with him anymore,” Kayla said and leaned in to grab the almost empty wine bottle. After neatly dividing the last drops between the three glasses, she said, “Dunc said they never seen Brennan like this. He’s even short with Pops.”

“Nah, that’s just him being an asshole,” Errin said as she jutted her chin stubbornly.

“He still wants you, Bunny. It’s plastered all over his face whenever you pass him by in the pub. His eyes were all over you when he was working you in on Friday,” Kayla said before saluting her with her newly filled wine glass.

“Okay, the attraction is still there. I’ll give you that. But I’m never going back there. Especially since I might head back to Jersey in a couple of weeks to audition.”

Kate reached over Kayla’s lap and took Errin’s hand in hers. She squeezed once and said, “I’m sorry you’re so homesick. If it hadn’t been for me—”

“Ah, no. Stop it right there. I’ve never seen you, or Kayla for that matter, happier than you’ve been here, with your Mills men. When people fall in love, they tend to forget everyone and everything around them. And I guess it’s time for me to make some grown up decisions for myself.”

“Like?” Kate whispered.

“I’ll do one last round of auditioning. If I make it, I will give it my all. But if it doesn’t work out, I’m going to figure out what the hell I’ll do with my life instead.”
