He lay perfectly happy with her in his arms, as shedidn’t even try to tell him one of her stupid jokes.

He sure as hell wouldn’t bring any ideas into her head by addressing it. He let out a big breath and held her even closer.

She woke up in his bed and sure enough; the sound of the shower running in his attached bathroom disappointed her.

Disappointed, because she’d rather lay all sticky and smelly against his hot body for a few moments longer. What was wrong with me?

She glanced around his room like she had on the night of her birthday celebration. This time completely relaxed and satisfied. She jumped when Brennan entered the bedroom.

He had little room to move around his king-size bed as he walked over to his closet. His unruly wet black hair stood out on all sides of his head and his short trimmed beard glinted from some kind of lotion.

The scent of sandalwood wafted into the room and she took a deep breath to fill her lungs with his smell.

He chuckled at her antics while dropping his towel and said, “Ah, you finally awake, eh?”

He turned his naked backside to her to open his closet. Some stray water droplets slid down his spine, gliding over his naked white firm cheeks, showing the exact measurement of the swim shorts he wore during the summer.

She licked her lips and cleared her throat before remembering his words.

“Finally?”

“Yeah. I already did my workout in the living room. Figured I should let you sleep in.”

She sat up in bed and said, “You could’ve woken me up, Bren.”

He glanced over his shoulder and raised his brow. “Not really a morning person, eh?”

She huffed a breath, and he smirked like he couldn’t hold his laughter. As he hummed to himself while picking out clothes, she crossed her arms and blew a stray strand of hair from her face.

This was all too much. He was acting like they were in a relationship, standing all-naked before her, talking about letting her sleep in. Should she set him straight?

His black boxer briefs showed under his still open blue faded jeans and as her eyes found his, he was smiling down at her. She sure was tempted to go all Evil Errin on his ass, cussing him out for not listening to her. She told him they would fuck one last time and that would be it.

Argh, last night he’d said he was falling for her! Shit. And after he’d said so, she had sex with him, anyway. She should put some distance between them. Maybe quit working at the pub all together. But what if the audition ended up like the rest of them lately had?

She swallowed back the emotions threatening to clog her throat. She needed to get away from him for a moment. He would have her crying like nobody’s business if he said something sweet to her. Ugh.

She stood from the bed and walked into the bathroom. After doing her business, she picked a toothbrush from under the sink. She opened the packaging and smeared a generous amount of toothpaste on the blue brush.

She looked up into the mirror, and snorted when her reflection equaled a fucked up clown with red smudges surrounding her lips, even coloring her cheeks.

He’d detested her make-up. Ha! And he really didn’t like her drinking with his cousin. She snickered and leaned down to spit residue toothpaste into the sink.

She was still buttnaked, so she walked into his shower stall and turned on the shower. After a few moments beneath the stream of warm water, she started washing her hair with his shampoo. The typical Brennan scent enveloped her hair and body like a warm blanket. She jumped from a knock on the bathroom door.

“I’ll make us some breakfast. What would you like?” he asked behind the door.

“I’ll have whatever you’re having, thanks,” she said before she stuck her bottom lip under the spray, letting the stream fall from both sides of her mouth, and coming together over her chin.

Him making breakfast for her almost gave her a panic attack. She had to have ‘the talk’ with him. Maybe over breakfast.

She sighed and washed her body once more. Tears threatened to fall and stung her eyes. She tilted her head back under the spray and let the water wash away the evidence of her emotions.

“Geez. Such a cry-baby,” she whispered. “Grow some balls, Errin. Tell him where you stand. Before it gets too hard to leave him.”

She turned off the faucet and picked up the towel from the counter that hadn’t been there when she’d entered the shower stall. Huh. He sure had some mad ninja skills. She grinned.

After towel drying her hair and braiding it in her signature messy style, she entered the bedroom and picked up his dark blue T-shirt he’d lain out for her at the foot of the bed. She picked up the T and smelled it.Mmm, Brennan.
