“Of course I’ve got eyes on them. I have eyes on a lot of people. After finding Hank, I did a check on the Strong Riders MC. Some brothers of that MC have been meeting with Silas. It’s not looking good, Ro.”

Ronan slammed the wheel. “Fuck! I don’t want to get stuck in some turf war between biker clubs. This is Fi and Gwenn we’re talking about. They have absolutely nothing to do with this shit!”

“I know. Try to keep calm and watch the road. You’re almost there.”

Ronan knew that his truck had a special GPS installed, especially for Mills Security. It was easy to go out on a job and not checking in so damn much.

Ronan arrived at the warehouse and killed the engine of his truck. He stepped out and upon instinct; he crawled closer to the warehouse through the tall grass. Across the field, he saw Dragon, Demon and Zeus creeping closer from the opposite side of the warehouse.

Anxiety clogged his throat. He needed Fianna in his arms. Breathe in her scent.

He needed the chance to tell her once more how much he loved her.

In the twelve-minute drive to this eerie deserted warehouse, he had envisioned all kinds of scenarios. None of them were good. He didn’t know what he’d do without her. If she had got hurt, or even worse, he would kill every motherfucker in that warehouse he would stumble upon.

He would join the MC and ask Zeus if he could be their in-house tormentor. He would send his wrath upon everyone who deserved it. His dark side was so close to taking over from him; he almost missed Devlin sneaking into the warehouse.

Ronan got up from his spot and crouched over to Demon, Dragon, and Zeus. There were other IVMC members slipping through a hole in the fence, creeping to the back of the warehouse.

He couldn’t wait any longer. Ronan needed to know what Devlin had stumbled on inside. He slipped inside and waited on his eyes, adjusting to the bright lantern that someone had brought. Now he stood inside, Ronan blinked his eyes at the scene in front of him. A guy lay motionless on his back, in front of the right back tire of the van that probably took the girls. That guy lying there wasn’t that shocking, but what did was the piece of plywood sticking out of his neck.

A pool of blood surrounded the man.

“Fuck,” he whispered.

And then it dawned on him… the back of the van that had been emptied.

Where were they? Were they just in hiding?

Emmy had talked about two guys taking the girls. Fuck. Where was that other man? Did they get to him, too? Or was he out on revenge?

Gwenn and Fianna could very well be running for their lives at this very moment. Ronan gave Devlin a nod. He knew what to do.

Time to go hunt, stalk and kill.

Fianna

She tried to train her ears by holding her breath. It didn’t work. She heard the wind weave through the grass. But other than that, it was dead quiet.

Rustling grass sounded closer and closer.

Was this going to be the end of this?

Would he find them here and finish it?

Suddenly, the moon got a moment of free game to shine over the field when the light-blocking cloud drifted away.

She knew she shouldn’t look up from their hiding spot. If she could make out her surroundings under this moonlight, then it meant that guy could, too. But on the other hand, she wasn’t about to be a sitting duck.

Maybe if she saw him coming, she could get Gwenn to go a separate way so that at least Gwenn would be safe.

She gave her sister a long look. Gwenn shook her head, probably knowing what she wanted to do.

Fianna got up from the grassy ground and when she stood upright, she came face-to-face with the horrific man who stumbled at her in a direct line.

There was no time to pick up Gwenn. She did what she could do and ran in the opposite direction from Gwenn’s spot, trying to lure him away from her sister.
