Once Jax makes sure everyone is playing nicely, he pats his brother on the back and walks over to me.

When he is standing in front of me, he leans down, kisses my temple, and then places his hand on my stomach.

“How’s he doing?” he says.

I place my hand on his, covering the bump that houses our baby boy. “He’s good. Kicking like crazy.”

“He probably wants to join the fun.”

“I’m sure. But not for three more months.” I laugh.

“At least,” he agrees. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” I lift to my tiptoes and place a kiss on his lips. “Thank you,” I say against his mouth.

“For what?”

“For this. For all of this.” I motion around me.

“Anything for you. You are my world, Willow.”

“And you are mine.”

I’m safe. Protected. Loved and cherished.

I have a family again.

It’s not the family I was born with, but it’s mine.
