It was just the distraction needed so my friend would be thrown off the mother hen scent she’d been on regarding how I felt.

“Oh great, it’s too hard to tell her no when she wants it for her brother, or any time honestly. I better go check out what her dad will be buying now,” she said laughing as she walked that way.

I relaxed a fraction and looked at Alley. “Thank you.”

“It may have helped and I could see what was happening, but Embry seriously does have a doozie over there she is itching to buy. You need to go see it. And just wait until we get back and the guys get a look at it,” she replied in a fit of laughter.

The surprise that Jurnee didn’t know about was that Braxton planned a get-together back at the house with the girls, but also him, Gyth, Jurnee’s dad, Kace, and Landon. They would unload what we bought and then he had a Mexican smorgasbord planned for his lady since it was her favorite food.

One week, I hadn’t seen the rugged, sexy, man for that long. I wanted to make an excuse to go home and run from all the feelings bubbling inside me, and the other half wanted to run straight into his huge arms, while I rested my head against his massive chest.

My feelings for him may have scared me, but his arms were where I felt safe.

No wonder I am so confused.

First things first…“Okay, show me what the sweet little one found now,” I told Alley.

Then hooking my arm through hers, we set about finishing that part of the celebration.

And as I walked off I couldn’t help but think again, if I would ever have a day like this with a baby on the way and an adoring husband.

I want the fairytale.

My pulse picked up and my heart began to race as the house came into view.

I shouldn’t have been nervous to see Gyth—I never had been before. But the second his lips had first touched mine, things had started to change.

Even if I’d fought it, practically kicking and screaming. I had actually screamed a few times. Not my finest moments I’ll admit.

Gyth was the same guy he’d always been since I’d met him, and yet after the weekend we spent together and we’d kissed again, as well as helped each other through some tough situations, it was a hell of a lot harder to deny my feelings. Seeing his extremely large, thick cock may also have something to do with it.

Or maybe that should make me run.

Straight up, I was excited to see him, and that scared the bejesus out of me. I had no more time to worry about it, as Alley pulled up, and then backed her big, badass black truck into the driveway. It was like her side gig was driving monster trucks; the thing was a beast. Totally fit my girl, and with the added bonus of her sticker in her back window that read, ‘Anything boys can do, girls can do better,’ it was just plain awesome.

We’d taken two cars today so we had room for everyone and to pile all the stuff we bought into. It was a damn good thing that Alley had her truck because Embry’s find made it necessary.

Alley and I were in her truck, and the others had driven in Jurnee’s new SUV since it was bigger, but her mom drove so she could relax for the day. They’d pulled in right behind us and we all got out of the vehicles, just as the guys descended the front porch and headed our way.

My gaze had gone straight to Gyth, and our eyes locked. He wore jeans, which I happened to know if he turned around would showcase a very fine ass, a white t-shirt under a red flannel, and a pair of brown cowboy boots.

My parents would hate the look, and not accept him, and it was another thing most people wouldn’t think of me liking. But the country vibe, especially on Gyth, turned me on and got my engines roaring to life. And don’t get me started on his southern accent, which came out even more when he was upset.

Listening to him all day wouldn’t be a hardship, and when he sang, well there is no way my panties were ever staying dry then. My face flushed hot and probably looked red as a tomato, and Gyth had a gleam in his eye as if he’d known I was thinking dirty thoughts.

Am I that obvious?

As the guys approached, Embry started bouncing up and down like she was on a pogo stick, she was so excited. It was so damn cute, but I think the look on Braxton’s face when he got close enough to see inside the vehicles packed full, and then spotted the bed of Alley’s truck, well that was priceless.

“Look, Daddy, do you see what I bought my baby brother?” Embry screeched.

Braxton’s eyes bugged out of his head and everyone started laughing. He seemed to recover quickly though and leaned down to his daughter with a surprised expression on his face, that was Oscar-worthy, and said, “Wow, Doodlebug, I didn’t realize you had so much money.”

Embry seemed to think that was hilarious and started giggling in a fit of laughter.

“I don’t have any money, silly, I’m only five!” she told him.

“Well then, how did you buy this car for your brother?” he asked her.
