Raising my head, I chuckled. “Looks like this sweet girl was meant for us both.”
“How the hell are you still single?” Gyth blurted out.
My head reared back a little shocked at the question and so I could look at him. I didn’t say anything and he kept talking.
“You’re perfect, Sunshine. Inside and out. How some lucky man hasn’t snagged you for his own is beyond me, but makes me fucking happy that nobody has. Because you are it for me.”
“Gyth, I—“ his mouth slammed down on mine before I could utter another word. Slanting his mouth against mine to get a better angle, he touched the seam of my lips with his tongue and I opened for him instantly. Our tongues dueled in an intimate battle and when he pulled back from the kiss, my lips missed his instantly.
“Sunshine, you are also gonna have to explain to me how you haven’t been with a man before. You are one hell of a kisser and a sexy woman. I promise to go slow, but one day I will have you in my bed.”
Still straddling his lap, I brought both hands to my hips and glared at Gyth.
“You think so, do you? You can’t just tell me what is going to happen,” I told him, using an irritated tone.
Ash raised her head and looked like she was on alert. “Good dog,” I told her, patting her head.
“Woman, don’t go trying to get your dog mad at me now,” Gyth said before leaning in right next to my ear. “We both know where this is going, and I’ll wait until you're ready. Now tell me, do you need to change those sexy panties again?”
“You are awful,” I said as I smacked him on his solid, massive chest.
“Oh yeah?” He responded and then started tickling my sides.
Jumping off him and right off the truck, I took off running through the grass.
I was no match for him or Ash who gave chase right away and were on my heels and caught up to me in no time.
Softly, Gyth grabbed me around the waist and lowered me to the ground. He took so much care to do it so I wouldn’t get hurt at all, even though he could squash me like a bug.
Rolling me to my back so he was above me, his strong arms holding him up, Ash took that moment to squeeze between us and lick my cheek. Then she laid down beside us. She was amazing and so was the man looking right at me.
“You’re mine.” That was all he said and waited. The intensity of his stare had my belly doing nervous flips. But I couldn’t deny the truth.
“I’m yours.”
And then his mouth lowered to mine for another mind-blowing kiss.
Chapter Twenty-Four
Gyth
Havingto take Summer back to her place killed me.
If I hadn’t, Alley would have sent out a search party for sure and probably kicked my ass when she found me. But taking my girl home with me sounded damn good.
Eventually, the time would come. Then one day I would convince her to always stay with me.
This time though, we’d taken a few moments to play with Ash and enjoy the view some more before getting in my rig and heading back to her place.
It was like breaking in a scared filly. She was coming around but was hesitant and I needed to do it just right.
As the lyrics I sang earlier poured out of me, I knew them to be true. I’d spend however long it took to learn everything about this girl, even if it took the rest of my life.
Because I loved Summer.
