I didn’t wantto leave him.

We had ridden back to my house in comfortable silence, Ash between us and my hand cupped softly in Gyth’s.

Would he think I was insane if I’d told him to take me to his place? I wanted to explore everything with him, but more than that, I just wanted to be close to him. It excited me and frightened me too.

But pulling up to my place I wanted to look fear in the eye and quote one of my favorite eighties movies. However, knowing I needed to get Ash settled in the house and introduce her to Alley, I decided it would have to wait.

I will say it one day.

“Don’t move an inch,” Gyth demanded as he got out of the truck and jogged around the front of the vehicle to my side.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, the man could be bossy as hell. And I wouldn’t always cave, but it was growing on me at times. I could however think of one place his domineering ass just might be the perfect place for.

The bedroom. Now that would be hot.

I may not have known what I liked when it came to a man and sex, but I had an inkling that a demanding Gyth would be freaking unbelievable.

Startled when the door opened, I jumped in my seat a little. Ash let out a little bark and Gyth laughed.

“You’re blushing again, Sunshine,” he remarked. Leaning over he unbuckled my seatbelt and grabbed me by the waist. In one quick move, he pulled me from the truck, and gently lowered me down, my body sliding against his.

As my feet hit the cement, my head tilted back and I looked up into his eyes. I wasn’t sure if he was contemplating whether or not to kiss me, but I could use a couple before he left, so I decided I’d take the reins.

Going up on my tiptoes, I placed my hands on his rock-solid abs and raised my mouth to his. Taking the hint, Gyth leaned down, meeting me halfway. Making out like two teenagers right there in my driveway was great until a voice rang out, catching us off guard.

We broke apart as if we’d just been busted by one's parents.

“Shit, stop that and get your asses in here, I want to see the dog!” Alley yelled from the doorway of the house.

It’s a damn good thing nobody was outside right then, but the way she’d yelled I wouldn’t have been surprised if some of the neighbors heard her big mouth from inside had been peeking out their windows.

“Looks like the warden has spoken,” I mumbled to Gyth.

He let out a whistle and Ash jumped down from the truck, as I grabbed mine and her things. We all headed toward the house and up the porch stairs.

Alley left the door open and stepped to the side to let us all on. Just as I passed her, I said, “You’re just racking up the paybacks.”

Laughing, she replied, “Promises, promises.” Then she shut the door and dropped to her knees just as I had done when I first met Ash.

“Introduce me to this beauty,” she said, looking at Ash, who was standing next to me, her body pressed snuggly against my thigh.

She wasn’t a nervous dog and had a calm temperament, so in just the short time we had been together, we’d truly bonded and this was her watching over and protecting me. Ash gauged my reaction to people before she made a solid decision to trust them.

My girl was damn smart.

“Alley, this is Ash, and Ash,” I said rubbing the top of her head softly, “this is your new roommate, Alley”

Alley laughed and waited a beat to see what Ash would do.

“She’s okay, girl,” I told her, stroking her head once more. “Go on, get some lovin’.”

Listening to me, she left my side and walked over to Alley. More doggie kisses were dished out and I smiled, happy as heck.

It was an amazing day.

Looking away from Alley and Ash, my eyes landed on Gyth, casually standing against the wall taking everything in. He’d done this. Gyth had known exactly what I’d needed and he made it happen.

I focused back on Alley and started, ”I need—“
