We parked and he helped me out, leading me and Ash inside. When he opened his door and flipped on the first interior light, my mouth dropped open, stunned.

The condo featured a huge open area, where you could see in many directions and a large amount of his space. To the right, there were a couple of steps that went down into a sunken great room. It had beautiful hardwood floors, a gorgeous fireplace with the biggest television I’d ever seen mounted above it, black leather furniture, and a large bookshelf with quite the collection on it. I would have to check that out later because it shocked me.

The other part that flabbergasted me was the decor. Paintings on the wall, plush beige and red pillows on the couch and chair, adorable lamps on cool coffee tables, and a soft throw over the top of the couch.

“You had an amazing decorator,” I blurted out.

His deep laughter sent a tingle straight to my lady parts, and I found myself squeezing my thighs in reaction. It didn’t go unnoticed either because he saw everything.

“You're killing me, Sunshine,” he growled out in a sexy tone. “And you are looking at the decorator.”

“What?” I said lamely as my eyes widened, once again shocked.

“I love the computer so I check out stuff online about anything and everything. But my mom also loved this kind of thing and making our place together a home for me growing up was always important to her, so I got used to her always buying new decorations, changing stuff, and making our house feel homey.”

“That’s wonderful. I wish I could meet her.” After I said it, I felt horrible because I never would and I lost his smile with those words. “I’m sorry—“

Gyth stopped my next words and grabbed my hands. “Don’t be sorry. I wish she could meet you also. She would have loved you too.”

He saidtooand I knew then he was speaking of his mother and himself, once again telling me in a roundabout way that he loved me.

I sighed at the warmth that ran through me and was just about to tell him how I felt because he needed to know, but then Ash let out a little bark. Oh my God, I’d forgotten all about my poor dog.

But I didn’t need to worry. When I turned toward the sound of her bark, my girl was happily set up with a luxurious dog bed, a basket full of toys, and stainless-steel food and water dishes on a cute mat. I noticed a brush, shampoo, and other stuff sitting on a table nearby. The man had thought of everything.

Turning back to Gyth I pulled my hands from his and jumped up enclosing my arms around his neck. His big palms automatically went to my ass and boosted me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist.

“You’re the best,” I told him and then planted my mouth on his, intending on kissing him senseless.

He backed me up, placing my back on the closed door, and tilted his mouth to get a better angle. His cock strained against his jeans, pressing into my core and my panties dampened instantly.

“I think,” I said, breathlessly, after ripping my lips from his. “We can skip dinner for now.”

“Sunshine,” he started, before the sound of my phone ringing in my purse that I’d dropped on the floor before jumping into his arms interrupted him.

“Oh my God, put me down!” I screeched.

He released my legs, confused about what was happening. I untangled myself from him and dropped to the floor to grab my still ringing cell.

“Babe, what the hell is wrong?”

Ignoring his question, I answered the call.

After hearing the person on the other end say, “It’s time,” I then responded by saying that I was on my way.

I hung up, stood, and grabbed Gyth’s hand. “Will Ash be okay here while we are gone?”

“Sure, but Sunshine what is happening?”

“Jurnee is having her baby and I have to be there!” I yelled excitedly, dragging him out the door.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Summer

“Push, just a few more pushes, you’re almost there!” Braxton frantically encouraged his wife.

When I got the call from Jurnee hours before, she had already been in labor for some time, stubbornly waiting it out at home. I’m surprised my bestie didn’t have her baby on the side of the road in Braxton’s Jeep for as much time as she let pass by without telling her husband it was time.
