He looked so right holding that tiny bundle of joy.

When he looked up and caught me staring, he smiled at me and then gave me a wink.

Lord, oh Lord, why had I fought this thing between us for months?

I was done fighting, it was time to get to all the good stuff.

Since we all knew that Jurnee needed to get some sleep, we dished out hugs and kisses and made our way out to the parking lot. Braxton was staying with Jurnee and Embry with her grandparents for the night. The rest of us headed home to our own places.

When I approached Alley, she immediately put up her hand to stop my words dead in their tracks. “Not now, and I don’t know when. You see too much, but you go and have your night.” Then with a smirk, she added, “You can share the dirty deets later.” Hugging me bye she was once again gone, like a ghost in the night.

Gyth had been saying bye to Kace and as I stood by his truck waiting for him, chills ran through my body. It wasn’t the good kind though, it was as if my body was saying something was wrong. Gyth had told me to listen to my body and it was telling me something was off.

It felt like someone’s eyes were on me.

I watched closely to see if I spotted anyone but hadn’t. Hoping I was just on edge with everything that had happened, and not wanting to ruin the mood, I let it go.

“You ready to head back to my place or did you want to get Ash and I’ll take you to yours? I know you’re probably tired?” Gyth asked as he approached me.

The hell If I was going home and I figured this was as good of a time as any to use that favorite movie line I wanted so bad.

So I said…

“Take me to bed or lose me forever,” fromTop Gun.

Gyth eyes widened in surprise. Then he grinned and replied, “Show me the way home, honey.”

Holy shit, he knows the lines to the movie too.

I was definitely in love.

Gyth picked me up off the ground and opened the passenger door, tossing me in the truck like I weighed ten pounds, as I laughed hysterically.

I think the man was in a hurry.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Gyth

Walkinginto the room and seeing Summer holding the baby brought even more clarity to how I felt about her.

A beautiful picture formed of my Sunshine blossoming with our child and a family being made together.

I wanted that with her, more than anything.

And I needed it, more than my next breath.

But first, it was time to make slow, sweet love with my girl. She’d told me to take her to bed or lose her forever. So it was the bed we were headed to.

Because I’d be damned if I was ever losing my Sunshine.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Summer

We werelucky we didn’t get pulled over.

Gyth flew home like a bat out of hell. It was slightly hair-raising, but sensually electrifying at the same time. The man did know how to handle his machine.
