Gyth wouldn’t break a promise if he could help it, and at that moment, I chose to believe in us fully. Icouldhave it all.

“I want that with you too.” I smiled back at him.

My heart was full of so much love it was about to burst in my chest. Raising my face to his, he leaned down and met my lips. God, I was addicted to his scruffiness brushing against my skin.

“Love you, now feed me,” I told him as we broke apart.

Gyth chuckled. “Shower first, get a move on woman.”

Chapter Thirty-One

Summer

I felt thoroughly ravishedafter that shower.

My body was relaxed, clean, and had been well taken care of. Gyth knew just how to use that tongue of his. One day I would have him teach me how to return the favor.

Ash greeted us excitedly as we walked out into the living room. She was seriously the best damn dog and it amazed me every time I saw her running around with just three legs like it was completely normal. Since she was so young when she’d lost the fourth, I guessed it was her.

We headed toward the kitchen with Ash following behind us. I finally got a good look at the rest of the house in the light of day. Something I missed when he went all caveman on me and hauled me off to his room last night.

Gyth pointed at me and told me to park my cute ass at the island. Raising my eyebrows at him and his demanding shit, I said, “Don’t be a bossy ass.”

Throwing his head back, his deep, sexy laugh had my pussy fluttering to life and I had to squeeze my legs together. Ash had plopped down on the floor by the barstool not caring what was happening and just glad we were around. But Gyth, his eyes pierced mine as he took in my flushed cheeks and tension.

“Sunshine, we better fuel up first if you want me to take care of that again,” he commented as his eyes roamed downward.

He couldn’t see behind the counter, but I knew when his eyes dipped low that he was fully aware of my reaction to him as he slid a glass of orange juice across the island and brought his own to his gorgeous lips.

“What, your magic cock can’t handle another round?” I fired back, ready to play with my guy even if I was out of my element with this flirting stuff.

A choking sound erupted from his throat and orange juice went flying in all directions spraying on me as if a sprinkler had just burst from the ground to water everything around it. Ash got up and ran out of the room, obviously trying to avoid it.

I sat stunned, my shirt soaked with juice and then I giggled at Gyth’s horrified look. But as my laughter continued and I was in full belly laughs unable to stop myself, he followed along and chuckled too.

“Babe, I have to say Alley’s books are giving you some nice vocabulary.”

Wait, what?

“How do you know that Alley uses that in her books?”

“Don’t look so surprised, I told you I like to read,” he replied as if that all made perfect sense.

“But—“ I started and was cut off as he rounded the island and grabbed my hand, pulling me off the stool and back toward the living room.

Marching me up to his huge bookshelf that looked beautifully handmade, he stopped in front of it and pointed. Gyth had a ton of books, many different genres: self-help, project books, you name it. But he also had acquired every single one of my friend’s books.

A huge smile broke out across my face.

God, the man just kept surprising me.

“This is hilarious and awesome,” I told him.

“Alley is my friend too, so I want to support her. Plus, I like to read. Even if she is a smutty little thing, she still writes a damn good book!” he exclaimed, his voice passionate about his friend and mine.

I couldn’t control myself, I turned from the books and threw my hands around his neck, leaning in close and kissing him just below the ear. Then I whispered, “About that magic cock.”

Gyth let out a hiss and a groan at my words, then locked his arms around my waist and walked me backward towards the hallway.
