As I turned my attention to the policeman who addressed me, he asked, “Is there anything else you can tell us that will help with the report?” I had already explained everything to him, even the stuff that none of my friends had been aware of and when I had looked at Landon, it seemed as if his jaw was about to break. I was sure I would hear about it as soon as we were alone.

Letting out a sigh, my body sagged a little and I told him there was nothing else. He let us know they would get a hold of the precinct back home who had started a report when I got the flowers, since everyone insisted I did that and the big bad Gyth called his connections. They seemed to act like it was probably harmless and would go away, as well as it being something that would be hard to track down. Remembering what Summer just went through made me shudder, because her situation was not harmless at all.

Good thing I had two bats now, one at each door in case I needed to use them.

As they exited my hotel room, I collapsed onto the sofa. “Babe, why were you holding all that in and not letting people know what was going on? That is not good and you need to take it seriously.” Yeah, I got that now, but it had only been one, not two.

“Look, today was the first time there were two and the first person has just started escalating more. Landon, I really can’t handle talking about stalkers right now and I need a drink.” I pushed myself off the couch and headed toward my bedroom, slamming my door behind me.

When I exited the room, Landon was right where I had left him. Guess my bodyguard was still on duty. Dressed in my tight, ripped black jeans, my Star Wars t-shirt with Darth Vader on the front, because let’s face it, I was thinking of going to the dark side right about now, and my red high-top vans, I headed to the door.

Grabbing my hotel key card, ID, and money off the table, I shoved them in my back pocket without turning around. Landon looked so damn good in his jeans, green shirt and black leather jacket, I needed to keep my eyes off him and just focus on getting that drink in me.

Maybe if I have enough, he will be blurry and not look so good anymore.

“You are either going back to your room or you can follow me around, Pretty Boy, but we are in Vegas, and I am going to drink enough to forget the shit that just happened while I enjoy the lights, booze, and slots.” With that, I walked out.

Footsteps behind me as I went for the elevator told me I had company. His silence made me wonder what was going through his mind. But he didn’t stay quiet too long. The doors slid open and as we stepped inside, he said, “I will be glued to you like white on rice.”

Shit on a stick. This is a bad idea.

ChapterEight

LANDON

She was goingto be the death of me.

Her perfectly round ass, those strong thighs that were outlined in her tight jeans. Legs I remember at one time being wrapped around my waist as I pounded into her, loving her with everything I had in me. Curved hips that were swaying to the music bursting from the speakers as she played the slot machine she was on and those sensual lips that were pursed in concentration as though it would help her win. And then there were her tits she thought she concealed behind her casual, black t-shirt, which was no use because I already knew what they felt like in the palms of my hands.

But it was her silky, midnight black hair that I used to run my fingers through to soothe her when she was having a bad day or trouble sleeping, and her intense, deep, ocean blue eyes that were wreaking havoc on my control and the fit of my jeans, as I stared at her.

Then when she laughed freely and screamed excitedly because she won twenty bucks, a smile on her beautiful face, it took everything in me not to pick her up and march her up to my room.

So I grabbed another shot off the tray sitting next to me on the tall pub table and threw back the whiskey, letting the warm liquid slide down my throat.

I just prayed it did the trick.

ChapterNine

ALLEY

Who hitme with a damn hammer?

My head was about to explode, and my mouth felt like it was stuffed full of cotton balls. And as my stomach revolted, a vague picture of walking down the strip, with a big fruity drink in my hand, tickled my memory.

Squeezing my eyes shut in concentration, I worked to mentally grasp the events of the prior evening. Then I bounced my foot a little, something I did when I was thinking or irritated, and it met someone’s leg.

Oh my god! I’m not alone.

It was then that Landon’s naked body flashed in the forefront of my mind and the night's shenanigans rapidly flickered through my brain like an old black and white movie being shown on a projector.

I hadroyallyscrewed the pooch.

Rolling to my right quickly, I slapped my palm down flat on his smooth, sculpted chest, and froze. It wasn’t his amazing six-pack that had me speechless or the very nice happy trail heading down his stomach to the place I was sure I revisited last night, a first after so many years, that had me gasping in shock.

It was the big, shiny ring on my finger, sparkling at me like a beacon from a lighthouse telling me I’d found my way. But what I needed to do was run.

And when I realized what finger it was on, that was when anything that might be left in my stomach started screaming at me to be set free.
