My breath left my lungs and I felt like I might start hyperventilating. What he had just said was the sweetest thing I had ever heard. My heart ached for our baby, wishing she was here with us, and leaped in my chest at the same time, knowing Landon clearly cared so much for me.

Once again, I was at a loss as to what to say. Dealing with the wild, sexy, out-of-control Landon, was a lot easier than the soft-hearted, loving side of him. I wasn’t all that good at that shit. I got used to it once with him, but now that the years and past were between us, I was struggling to let that part of myself out again.

Landon leaned in and kissed me lightly on the lips and once again let me off the hook. Lightening the mood because he was so good at reading the panic that was probably showing on my face, he said, “We are not done yet so roll that sweet ass over and get up on all fours.”

It was hours later and into the very early morning when I heard him mumble, softly, “Mi Tesoro”,and then I felt his body relax and heard his breathing even out. He had fallen asleep, and I lay there wide awake asking myself, what the hell just happened?

I knew one thing. Landon had kept his promise and rocked my world, spinning it out of control one orgasm after another. And it was the time he slowed things down and I knew he was making sweet love to me, that was buried in my heart and soul, leaving me wanting more.

Panicked now, I slowly pulled out of his embrace and rolled over to grab my phone off the nightstand next to me. There was only one thing to do. I sent out an SOS. I just hoped both of my girls didn’t kill me for waking them up.

Alley: SOS.

I texted out to both Jurnee and Summer at the same time and held my breath waiting for an answer.

Both girls had responded almost immediately and worriedly. I felt bad having possibly scared them, but they were up now and well, I needed them.

Alley: I’m a sinking ship.

Jurnee: A what? You are not making sense, what is going on?

Summer: Is my brother there? Because if he left you home alone, I am going to kill him.

The girls and I were just like family, so there was no doubt Summer would go head-to-head with her brother for me. Best friends were always ready to battle for each other.

Alley: He is here, but I am freaking the hell out. I am sinking in a sex-induced Landon comma.

Oh shit, why did I just say that?

Jurnee: So he finally stuck his stick in your honeypot again, way to go.

She texted with a bunch of laughing emojis.

Then within seconds, a text came from Summer.

Summer: Eww gross.

And hers was accompanied by green barfing faces.

I couldn’t help but release a small giggle over that.

Summer: Jurnee, did you ever think I just may not want to hear that about my brother?

Jurnee: Too bad, Alley has to go through it with me and now you have to with her. Get used to it.

Summer: Geez, okay, okay.

Their banter back and forth was funny, but true. It took a little getting used to hearing details about my brother and Jurnee, but she was my best friend so it was impossible not to share, so I dealt with it, and I knew Summer would too.

Alley: Do you think we could have a girl’s day today? I could really use it.

I just needed to get out, have some girl time and think.

Summer: I am off today, so I am down.

Jurnee: Sure, I will have my parents watch the kids.

God, it felt so good to have friends like those two and be able to count on them all the time. Growing up I don’t know what I would have ever done without them, and I knew they felt the same way.
