LANDON

Something had changed.

Whatever it was or whatever the reason, I didn’t know.

But I liked the carefree woman who was bucking and thrashing below me as I ravished every inch of her creamy, smooth skin, dragging out another mind-blowing orgasm from her body.

No, I didn’t just like this woman.

I loved her.

ChapterTwenty-Two

ALLEY

One weekand I hadn’t killed him.

I wasn’t used to sharing my space with a man and I assumed the only reason that Landon was still very much alive was that he either kept me in a food coma or a sex-induced one. Between the mind-altering orgasms and the seriously tasty food he fed me, I had no choice but to keep him around.

Besides, he was rather tasty himself.

When I decided to let my guard down and give things a chance, or at least welcome the idea, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But Landon always seemed to know when to push and when to step back. He knew me well and during the last week, he’d done exactly what I needed.

He hadn’t tried talking any more about the crazy fact that we got married in Vegas, the forgotten protection that said night of those vows, or our past. Rather, he had let us live in the moment. We both were smart enough to know the hard stuff would have to be talked about soon.

We hadn’t seen the rest of the world or our friends for a full week, although I had spoken to Jurnee and Summer, and we were getting together in a couple of days to plan stuff for Summer’s wedding ceremony.

Sometimes it was weird to think I was already married and didn’t know what would come of that. But while planning another wedding for my best friend, I wondered if I should be sad that I didn’t have a ceremony with our friends when Landon and I said, ‘I do.’ One thing I knew for sure was that I would be lying if I said that the very fact I couldn’t remember most of our wedding night and saying those two words that should mean so much, didn’t bother me.

Because it did and was eating at me a lot.

“You almost ready?” Landon called out from the bedroom.

I’d gotten caught up in my thoughts and was running behind. He was taking me on another ride today, but this time we were headed to the beach. Not just the beach, butourspot we had always gone to.

“Give me ten minutes,” I told him.

After throwing my clothes on and my hair up in a ponytail so it was out of my face for the ride on his bike, I glanced at myself in the mirror. “Just enjoy yourself,” I said to myself.

We had spent all our time in the house and in bed together this week, except for running down to finish stuff up at the police station. I didn’t press charges against the crazy duo who’d attacked me, and I hadn’t filed for a restraining order even though I could have. After the police spoke with them, it didn’t seem like they would be bothering me any longer knowing what may happen if they did. So that was over.

With that in the past and my newfound determination to let Landon in, I was thrilled for my date, even if I was also nervous. It was time to have some fun. Not that fun wasn’t what I had been doing all week, because if orgasm after orgasm wasn’t fun, then something was wrong with me.

Let's do this.

And once again when I walked out of the house to find Landon waiting for me on his motorcycle, my breath caught in my throat. He was heart-stopping gorgeous and my body tingled with lust. His helmet was still off and his hair was mussed like he had run his hand through it, his sharp baby blues watched me intensely and his scruff on his face he had let grow since not working at the office, along with his black leather jacket, gave him an edgy look.

My pretty boy had a bad boy vibe going on. And it was sexy as all get out.

When I took him in again, I couldn’t help but remember just what the scruff on his face felt like between my legs and they automatically squeezed together to curb the sensation flaring up inside me.

Landon’s devious smile told me he saw the action and knew he was getting to me. And he was vocal about it too.

“Babe, hold it together, we have to actually get to the beach before you sample your date.”

As I walked toward him, I stuck out my tongue and once close enough, decided two could play his game. I leaned in, placed my hand on the side of his neck, and whispered in his ear.

“I’m not wearing panties,” I said and then kissed the shell of his ear and backed away. Grabbing my helmet, I jumped on the bike behind him.
