LANDON

I couldn’t takemy eyes off her.

It may have been Gyth and Summer’s wedding, but Alley looked gorgeous in her sage-colored dress that hugged her beautiful body, and my eyes stayed glued on her during the ceremony.

But honestly, they had been on her all day. From the moment we woke up this morning when she was sick, to finding out she was pregnant, and then constantly worrying that she was okay. I didn’t want to look away from her.

Alley was mine to protect.

She wasMi Tesoro.

ChapterTwenty-Eight

ALLEY

I was right,Gyth had lost it.

The big ox cried the second he laid his love-filled eyes on Summer.

I’d make fun of him later for it because it was a blast to give the guy shit, but I couldn't deny that the moment and the whole ceremony were something special. Seeing his love for Summer and knowing he would always take care of her made my heart swell with happiness.

As the two exchanged vows, I couldn’t help but glance over at Landon. When our eyes caught, a smile tipped up his lips and a warm sensation swept through my body.

Just before I turned back to the couple getting married, Landon mouthed,You okay?

I nodded my head up and down to confirm I was fine. The Ginger Ale helped to settle my stomach.

Then his lips moved again, but this time what I read was,I love you.

On instinct, my hand went to my belly and my eyes drifted down to where it lay, thinking about what we had created with that love. A serious case of lust too if I was being honest. And when I looked back up, Landon’s bright blue gaze went to my stomach and then back up to mine where they searched the depths for what I was feeling.

This man…

He was and always had been so concerned about me and how I felt. It seemed as though he always put me first and had taken care of me since the day I met him. I had been one lucky girl at ever having a chance with a man as wonderful as Landon and here I was getting a second. I needed to embrace it as Summer said earlier.

All of it, Landon and the baby.

So, I gave him a soft smile and mouthed the words back he had just given me. Then before I could forget where we were, I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard Kace say, “I now pronounce you husband and wife.”

My head whipped back to the happy couple as the guests applauded, but it wasn’t over yet. We hadn’t heard the last of Kace.

“I should kiss the bride,” he smirked. “You know, to congratulate her and all.”

Loud bouts of laughter rang out at his comment and then again when Gyth’s hand came up to smack the back of Kace’s head.

“Not a chance buddy, get your own wife,” Gyth growled, as Ash let out a bark, backing him up.

It was hilarious, but I was busy watching something else. Because for a brief second, while everyone was distracted, I saw Kace’s eyes change from playful to hurt when Gyth mentioned he needed to get his own wife. It was so fast that nobody probably saw it, but I didn’t miss it. Then he laughed with everyone else and told Gyth not to get his panties in a twist and how he was easy to mess with.

In the next second, Gyth didn’t wait for any more instruction and grabbed Summer, planting his mouth on hers and giving her their first kiss as husband and wife. More cheers went up and some tears of happiness were shed.

It was beautiful.

“I now present to you for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott!” Kace shouted as they walked hand and hand right into the small group of close guests, who gathered around them to say congratulations.

With no family on Gyth’s side and only Summer’s brother on hers, they just had our intimate group of friends, a few co-workers, and Jurnee’s parents. It was exactly how I would want things to be if it was me.

And then just like that, everyone was mingling, eating, dances were done, and the cake was devoured. Before I knew it, hours had passed and Summer and Gyth were saying their goodbyes, so they could head home. The next day they were leaving on their honeymoon to Ireland for ten days.
