“How is that possible?” Confusion set in. “And what about a dress, cake, and planning all the fun stuff?” I’d give her anything she wanted, but I didn’t want her to regret it later. “I don’t want you to miss out on that and resent me for it later.”

She shook her head side to side. “Rowan, all I want is to not wait another minute to be Mrs. Brinley Caddel.”

It was my turn to smile. “Damn, that sounds amazing.”

“So, is that a yes?” Anxiety rolled off her in waves. “You will marry me today?”

“I want nothing more. And I will do anything you want, Buttercup. I told you that.”

She squealed a little and Zander stirred once more. “What happened?”

Brin moved her hands from me and rubbed our son’s back. “Nothing, baby. Daddy and I are getting married today.”

“Yay,” he said sleepily and then was sound asleep again.

“So we are doing this. Are you sure?” Brin asked.

“Don’t make me spank your ass right here in the hospital, woman. I’ve never been surer of anything in my life.”

She sat back down on the edge of the bed. “How did we get here?”

I chuckled. “You gave my stupid ass another chance, that’s how. And we’re meant to be.”

“Yeah, we are.” She grabbed my hand and held it in hers. “Which also means I know your stubborn self well. Don’t think I don’t know you're in pain.” The look she gave me was pointed. “You’re going to take something for that and get some sleep.”

She left no room for argument so I would do as she asked. But only for a few hours.

“Fine, but only this once because I’m going to be fully awake when I make you my wife.”

“Can’t wait,” she said. A dreamy, excited look crossed her face and it was adorable.

“I have one question though,” I added after something important dawned on me. Battered with the events of the past hours, my brain was a little foggy so I hadn’t thought of it at first. “How did you manage to get the hospital to let us get married here? And what about our friends?”

Lord knows our group would be bent and pouting for months if they were not there when we said, ‘I do.’ Especially Kace and Gyth, they were big babies.

Her face lit up. Bright and more beautiful than ever. “They’ll all be here.” She winked at me just as I’d done her minutes before. “And I have my inside sources to make it happen.”

Damn she was amazing.

This was really happening.

I looked around the room that was packed like sardines and shook my head in amazement.

My girl and her inside source, which I found out was none other than nurse Ruby, had actually pulled it all off. They, however, did have some help since I saw some of Capri’s goodies on the counter under the window along with a bunch of flowers someone brought in. There was even a big plush, brown teddy bear.

“When we fall, we fall,” Gyth said, patting my shoulder, a smile on his big mug. “And I get to do the honors and hitch the two of you.”

I gave him a stern look. “No funny business, you hear?”

He slapped his hand to his chest over his heart. “You wound me. Would I do something like that?”

“Shithead,” I mumbled.

“I’ll leave the good stuff to Kace. He has a knack for that kind of thing,” he replied.

A deep chuckle rumbled from deep inside me. These guys were a pain in my ass. But when your friends were as close to you as brothers, that was the way it worked. Thinking of family brought on a bit of sadness and it settled heavily in my heart. I decided to not hide my feelings.
