Callie winced. "Uh, yeah, there's no getting around that part. So, I brought some micro lancets – sterile ones – so we can each prick a finger and drip a couple of drops of blood each on the heart. We're all family, so that's the kinsblood sorted, and no one has to die." She looked around. "Come on, one quick prick and it's done. Best if we do it here, so we can wash up and put bandaids on and stuff, because there's still the salt, and I have a bottle of pig's blood for the runes. We just need to find consecrated ground. I was thinking maybe outside the cathedral..."

"The cemetery. It's all consecrated ground, with a church and everything," Alethea said.

Callie grinned. "That's the spirit! How far away is it?"

"Only a little way down the road, but the main cemetery is all fenced off, and the gates are locked. We'd be better off at the dig site. It's still part of the cemetery, but I know the security code for the key, and the ground is already cleared, so it'd be a lot easier to do on bare sand, and just brush away the evidence afterward." Oh hell, she was going to go through with this, wasn't she? If she was already planning it...

"If we're going to do this, I vote we get dinner afterwards, because there's no way I'm going to be able to keep anything down if you expect me to paint with actual blood," Tacey said.

The others agreed, so Callie held up her hands. "All right, so here's the plan. We go out to the graveyard, perform the summoning ritual, give the demon time to get here if he's coming, and if he's not...well, we'll know for sure that magic and demons don't exist, and we can come back here and pig out on pizza and finish off the rest of the vodka, while we watch Sam and Dean hunt monsters and stuff, because watching Jensen Ackles' butt always puts me in a better mood."

"And if Alethea's stalker turns up?" Octavia asked.

Callie's grin was decidedly dark. "Then we threaten to make him part of the ritual, and scare the shit out of him."

Alethea grabbed the bottle and took a big swig of vodka. Maybe if she drank enough, she might be able to convince herself that this was a good idea.
