I cried out, catching the wall so I wouldn’t slip and fall. He pressed my back down until my tits were nearly pressed against the wall. I knew what he was going to do just before I felt the tip against my entrance. He let it slide between the folds of my pussy until it became too much for him. Without warning, he plunged inside, gripping my hips to pull me backward.

A small whine escaped my lips. I was still sore from last night, from his incessant need to devour me before. But I felt myself widening to accommodate his girth, gripping the base of his shaft so tightly that it made him swear. He stood there for a moment, relishing the way it felt to be inside me before pulling out nearly to the tip. My body was already answering to him, my nipples pebbling at the feeling of his cock thrusting back into me.

He wasted no time at all in picking up the pace. Something about this fuck felt different than last night. Before, I could tell he was trying to break me, to make me hate him. But this morning? This was nothing more than a quickie before we went our separate ways for the day. Except…it wasn’t that either.

I felt his hand slip around my stomach, his fingers finding my clit easily. The second his fingertips pressed against that sweet spot, my back arched, the sensation leaving me gasping. His fingers swirled and pinched the nub with each thrust, eliciting gasps and moans from my mouth I didn’t even know I could make.

It was pure fucking heaven. The hot water splattered against my back, down his chest, the sounds of our wet fucking echoing in the bathroom. I think it was the wet sounds of our bodies slapping together that really made it seem naughtier than it really was.

“Fuck, Sienna. I can’t—”

I had no idea what he was about to say. I cried out as his fingers left my clit, going to grip my shoulders instead. But any objection that had been on my tongue was fucked out of me by the incessant pounding of his cock thrusting deep inside. His pace quickened, nails digging into my shoulders to yank me backward.

“Oh my god….” I groaned, head falling forward. It was all I could do just to stay upright. “Harder, Dante. Fuck me harder.”

My words egged him on, pleading with him to pick up the pace. And fuck, did he. My moans turned to cries of pleasure as he fucked me with abandon. My mind went numb, thrills of pleasure sparking down my spine with each thrust. When I couldn’t take it anymore, my own hand slid between my thighs, rubbing desperately so I could cum.

And then I fell apart. His hands flew to my waist to hold me up as he continued, trying to find his own release. I felt like a doll, limp in his arms, allowing him to use me until he came in one last thrust. I knew he was done when his body slumped against mine, his forehead pressed against the back of my shoulders. He kissed me there softly, before pulling away and stepping out.

“I’ll finish showering when you’re done,” he said, refusing to look at me.

Without him, the shower felt colder, the space too big. I rushed to wash my hair and clean between my thighs, trying not to think about what had just happened. This felt entirely different from last night. From any other times we’d fucked before. I just couldn’t exactly say why.

Leaving some hot water for him, I stepped out into the bedroom, surprised to find that he wasn’t even there. I checked out in the living room and then the other bathroom and spare bedrooms. Dante had left. I didn’t know what that meant, but I couldn’t help but feel as if he was running away. I just didn’t know why.

By the time I got to the office, I’d already firmly tucked Dante away in my mind. I had other things to focus on this morning…like keeping the family business afloat. Since shutting down operations until this Snake business was resolved, I knew our finances had taken a substantial loss. Still, I was hoping we had enough to get through this storm without too much damage.

Apparently, I was wrong.

Mateo was waiting for me in my office by the time I stepped out of the elevator. I could see his shadow pacing back and forth. Steeling myself, I pushed the door open, refusing to look at him until I put my bag down beside my desk.

“Where have you been?” Mateo hissed, shutting the door behind me. “Do you not understand what’s at stake here?”

I stared up at him coldly. “I had other business to attend to. You should have been handling things well enough on your own.”

“I’m not the Don, Sienna. You are,” he snapped. “You should have been here this week.”

“Well, I’m here now. What’s the damage?” I ignore the way his nostrils flare at my nonchalance.

Mateo gracefully sits in the chair across from me, crossing one knee over the other though his foot still jiggles in the air. “We can’t stay closed for much longer. Already we will have to cut the worker’s pay. Both in the office and out in the shipyard. They aren’t going to be too happy about that.”

“I’m sure if you explained why we have to cut back, they’d understand,” I told him. “I’m sure they’d rather be poor and alive than rich and dead.” Though, to be fair, none of our workers were poor. Our high wages were just one reason why we were so successful.

“Sienna, you’re not taking this seriously,” Mateo warned. “Already we’ve had complaints. And with the Snake poaching our men, this will just give our people more incentive to leave.”

“Then they can leave,” I snapped. I rubbed my temples, already feeling a headache coming on. “If they try to leave, they know what happens. We can’t risk anything else getting out right now. If they say one fucking word—”

“That’s not an incentive to keep them here anymore, Sienna.” Mateo breathed out through his nose. “They’ll think they’ll find protection with this Snake person. That we won’t go after them if they switch sides.”

My head jerked up. “Why are you talking as if this has already happened?”

“Because it has!” His cheeks flushed red. “I’ve had to send men to track down four people who deserted already. We were able to take them out before they’d been able to do any harm, but still. This cannot go on for much longer.”

“Then deal with it!” I bit back. “You’re my second in command. You should be making sure this doesn’t happen.”

“I’m trying. What do you think I’ve been doing? But I can only do so much. You’re the Don. This is your responsibility.”

His words hit me like a physical blow. “I’m trying,” I whispered. My shoulders slumped with the weight of everything I had to deal with. My father’s untimely death, the responsibilities of both our legal and illegal operations, Dante… “I just can’t be everywhere at once. Which is why I need you to pick up my slack right now. At least until Dante—”
