I let out a sigh. College. Credit. Rental history. There's so much Wesley's missing out on that he doesn't even know.

"Your captors took a lot from you when they kept you in your cage, boy." I pull him close, then rub his thigh. "You don't have credit history, which is the primary way to borrow money in this country. I'll set you up with my personal banker at Goldman Sachs and open a credit card for you."

"I don't need a credit card." Wesley pops a piece of alien popcorn into his mouth. "I plan to make lots of money someday. I'll pay for everything in cash."

Smart boy.

"You think that now," I hedge, "but soon, you might want to purchase a home or investment property. Banks need to see your credit score to lend you money. If you don't have one, you won't get a loan."

Wesley grits his teeth. "How do I use credit? I don't even have a wallet to put a credit card in."

Tilting his chin up, I lean in and brush his lips with a kiss. "Daddy will help you with everything, beautiful boy." I feed him a piece of popcorn. "That's the wonderful part about having a Daddy. I’ll get you set up with a credit card, guide you through your first adult steps in life, and enroll you in a young adult life skills course to help you catch up on the things you missed. There are probably skills I don't even realize you need to learn, but the course instructor will assist you with that."

Wesley rubs his nose back-and-forth against mine. "See," he says, poking my belly. "This is how I know I was right about you."

"What do you mean?" I smirk because I can tell where this is going.

"Loads of men might try to take advantage of me in this situation." Wesley presses a kiss to my neck. "But you want to help me. You're not trying to infantilize me or treat me like the boy my captors made me be. You'll help me become an adult and learn how to live in society. That's something I've never had."

"You're exactly right." I brush a strand of hair from Wesley's forehead. "That's part of what gives me pleasure in a Daddy relationship. My ex-boyfriend wasn't receptive to my assistance and drove a wedge between us. I'm glad you want me to teach you about adult life, too. It's better that way."

Wesley points to my monitor. "What's that, Daddy?"

In my discussion with him, I accidentally awakened my monitor.

I quickly turn it off. "Nothing."

"You're keeping secrets from me." Wesley puts his hands on his hips. "That's no way to treat your boy."

I let out a sigh. "My brothers would kill me if I told you."

"Oh, here we go again." Wesley rolls his eyes. "Your brothers are impeding our connection. Great."

Well. I'll be damned.

"You're sassy, boy." I scorch Wesley with the fiercest glare in my arsenal. "I'm looking out for my family's interests."

"Yeah." Wesley doesn't mince words. "At the expense of your boy."

I let out a sigh. "We have a tight circle of trust in our family. If I tell you what's on my computer, I must initiate you into that circle."

"And?"

"I need my brothers’ approval." I stroke his chin. "That's why we must wait another few weeks."

Wesley makes a sad face. "Can't you tell me now and get their approval later?" He runs his fingers across my cheekbone. "I really want to know, Daddy. I promise I won't tell anyone."

"Not even Arlo and Rusty?" If Wesley spills the beans, word will definitely get back to my family.

"Not even my friends." Wesley issues me a serious look. "I won’t tell anyone for a few more weeks."

I grit my teeth. "I guess I can let you know considering I'll tell you eventually."

"That's the spirit, Daddy."

I flick my monitor on once again. "These are blueprints to the warehouse."

Wesley cranes his neck. "Why do you have those?"
