Christian, Rowan, Karter, Riley, Lucas, Macon, Bentley, Preston, and Santiago joined them and tripled the amount of fun. Lucas’ younger brother Jordan and two of his friends, Finneas and Lachlan, even showed up.

When it was time to eat dinner, I tried to get Wesley to leave, but he wasn't having it. He wanted to bounce all night long.

"Oh my God." Wesley's body trembles next to me. "I've never been in a bouncy house before, Daddy. I can't believe how much fun I had."

"I'm sorry I couldn’t join you." I let out a snort of amusement. “I loved bouncy houses when I was younger and I even went in some with my ex. But then he made comments about my weight and I stopped.”

"That's so not fair." A scowl forms on Wesley's face. “He’s an asshole. It's not right."

My eyes lock on the ocean. "I thought my ex-boyfriend was the one. We discussed marriage and plans for children. I invited him to live in the Hamptons with me and share my wealth."

"I can't believe he didn't take you up on your offer."

"Oh, he took me up on my offer, all right." Dark memories swirl through my mind. "But it wasmehe didn't want. He loved the maids, the chauffeurs, the expensive cars that I took out drag racing every weekend. Those are in my twenty-car garage—I haven't shown them to you yet. But he didn’t want to be intimate with me."

Wesley rests his chin on my shoulder. "That’s terrible, Daddy. You should never be with a boy who doesn't want to be with you."

"I agree." I cup my beautiful boy's ass. "At first, I was convinced he was out of my league. After all, even though I had money, most boys at the Little Bunny Club ignored me."

"I still want to cuddle with you in the beanbag chair, you know." Wesley blushes. "The minute you told me that, I wanted to do it. We have to visit the club."

"We will, sweet boy." I kiss Wesley's cheek. "But anyway, after a while, I realized he wasn't out of my league. He was just a fatphobic plus-sized body shaming asshole who didn't want to be with someone like me. Every man has a right to their preferences, but the comments he made and the looks he gave me were straight-up fatphobic."

Wesley kicks a pebble into the ocean. "You should've broken up with him a long time ago. You didn't deserve that."

I mull this. "I had to go through that to realize my worth." I shrug. "It sucks, but it's true. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and that experience taught me a lot about myself."

"Like what?"

"For instance, I refuse to settle now." I catch a lock of Wesley's hair between my index finger and thumb. "I only want to be with a boy I like. Not someone who latches onto me because of my money or runs from me when it comes down to it."

"I agree." Wesley massages my thigh. "That's what you deserve, Daddy. You're too good to settle."

"I also want a boy who's sweet." I kiss his cheek again. "And preferably enjoys my cooking. That's a must."

Wesley lets out a groan as he rubs his belly. "I love your cooking, Daddy." He winks at me. "And I'll let you in on a little secret."

"Yeah?"

"I fucking love your family’s cooking, too." His voice is a whisper. "Your grandmother's chicken Parmesan wasto die for. And the cannoli she made? Forget about it!"

"I saw you eat five." I wink at him. "Don't deny it, angel."

"Oh, I won't deny anything. I even stole some and hid them in your refrigerator to eat later. I mean, how can I resist cannoli like that? You should learn to make it, Daddy."

"I need to lose the weight I gained after my breakup, but maybe someday I'll ask Nana for her recipe."

Wesley places his hand on my belly. "You don't need to lose weight, Daddy. You're perfect the way you are and I adore you for it."

I tilt my head up and stare into Wesley's eyes. I drag my thumb along his cheek and pull him close to me.

"You make me so happy, you know that?" I inch forward and rub my nose on his. "You get along with my family. You love my cooking. And you accept me for me."

"You accept me for me too, Daddy." Wesley runs his fingers across my jaw. "This isn't a one-way street."

"Lots of men would love to be with a boy like you." I let out a growl as I bite his lower lip. "You're extremely attractive and you have a heart of gold."

"I don't want to be with other men." Wesley's breath hitches. "I want to be with my teddy bear in shining armor. The man who saved me. The man who gets me to the core of my being and would fight to the fucking death for me."
