I turn to Rusty and Arlo. "Are you ready?"

Rusty and Arlo look like angels in their uniforms. The uniforms are white scrubs, the kind medical scientists use in the lab. I expect them to be nervous, but their eyes are packed with intensity and determination. The ticks in their jaws let me know they’re ready to break into this warehouse and put a stop to these evil men, too.

"Yes." Rusty nods. "This warehouse where my abuser spotted me when I was sixteen. I want to burn it to the ground."

"And I'm determined to figure out what they did to my medication." Arlo clenches his fist. "It's not fair that poor boys who can't afford to go to doctors rely on tainted meds to treat their ailments. The FDA is supposed to regulate this practice, but they clearly don't. After I get to the bottom of it, I want to help my Daddy make them pay for their evil actions."

"Here, boys." Benedetto pulls three threads of red twine out of his back pocket.

I furrow my brow. "What are these?"

He ties one thread around my middle finger, then approaches my friends. He instructs them to hold out their hands and repeats the motion.

"Slip this off if anything happens to you. If I see it on the floor, I know something's wrong."

Rusty runs his thumb across the twine. "I'll do it. Thank you."

Benedetto crushes his lips to mine. "This is the last safety measure we have in place, boy." He kisses me slowly and passionately. "I want you to tear this shit off if anyone takes you. I'll follow you and hunt you down."

It's like Hansel and Gretel. "Yes, Daddy." I lose myself in his mouth, surrendering to his firm, possessive tongue. "I'll leave this trail of breadcrumbs behind. I won’t let them take me."

"That's my good boy." Benedetto feathers his nose against mine. "When we finish, I'll buy you an entire tub of mint chocolate ice cream." He grins. "Or we’ll head to Dairy Queen and buy out the entire store. I heard there's a new treat with a brownie you might enjoy. They rarely offer it with mint ice cream, but I bet if I bribed them, they'd allow it."

Ooey gooey warmth floods my insides. "That sounds wonderful, Daddy." My tummy rumbles thinking about my ice cream treat. "I'd love to eat it with you."

"Or perhaps we can stop by Christian's ice cream parlor," Benedetto growls into my lips. "I bet he could whip up the same creation with his dairy-free ice cream. We could see your friend."

I giggle. "Maybe we can take everyone to Dairy Queen. Blizzards on us."

"Yes, boy." Benedetto sinks his teeth into my lower lip, sucking it and sending chills down my spine. "Blizzards on Daddy. He'll keep you safe with your friends."

I slink my fingers through Benedetto's when we quit kissing. I rest my cheek on his shoulder, then pat his chest.

"I'm ready." I keep my voice firm, in control. I refuse to sound like a scaredy-cat before we break in. "Tell your brothers it's time. We’re done waiting."

Constantine motions for us to join him. We don our protective face masks and goggles as we group in front of the employee entrance. Already, employees in scrubs are hurrying through the door.

Constantine shoots a stern look at me, Arlo, and Rusty. "We’re heading inside now, boys. Remember what we discussed."

"Yes, Daddy." Arlo shuffles his feet.

"You'll stay next to us the entire time." Constantine issues Arlo a fierce glance. "No wandering off or falling into Little mode. These are evil motherfuckers and we’re here to take them out. There may be boys in cages we have an obligation to rescue. Let nothing distract you from our mission. If you do, we’ll face danger of unprecedented proportions."

I crack my neck. "I'm ready. Tell me when to enter."

"Follow me."

BENEDETTO

I keepmy fingers locked around Wesley’s as we head up the small concrete ramp. We enter the warehouse door, then push our way into the main manufacturing section.

Wesley tenses next to me, but I run my thumb over his hand to show him I'm here. My poor, sweet boy. There's no doubt he's experiencing unprecedented emotions stepping into his former place of capture.

But he's doing an amazing job. He personifies strength and, when this is over and we complete our mission, I’ll give him his reward.

Think about that later. Focus on taking the Diavolos out.
