UNNAMED BOY

I watchin awe as the warehouse bursts into flames. The roof slides off and rockets into the air, exploding like a firework. Orange sparks whiz by my face, but I barely see them.

The structural integrity disintegrates as the entire warehouse combusts. It craters in on itself, toppling over as bits of brick and cinder soar onto the street. A fire show of epic proportions displays itself to my watching eyes and I've never seen anything like it.

I burrow into Daddy. "You did it, Daddy. You took out the bad guys."

Benedetto holds me tight in his firm arms. "Wetook out the bad guys." He forces my chin up. "Without your help, we never could've pulled this off. You knew exactly where the rooms were and how to rescue the boys."

I feel so safe and comfy with Daddy. The events of this morning were scary as hell, and I really thought I'd die in that cage. My Daddy saved me.

"All I did was let the bad guys capture me." I squeeze my teddy bear as tight as I can, refusing to let my negative emotions hijack control of my brain. "You protected me."

"Listen, boy." Benedetto brushes his nose against mine. "You grabbed the keys from the dead guards on the floor. I never would've known which keys unlocked the cages." He pulls me into his arms and cradles me like a baby. "Without you, those boys would be dead right now. The Diavolos would've murdered them or they would've perished in the explosion."

"Thank you." My voice is soft, low, packed with emotion. "See? I knew I was right to trust you. You saved me tonight, Daddy. And look at this beautiful sight." I gesture to the burning building, pride welling up in my chest. "This was my hell for the last eight years. The place where men took advantage of me and hurt me."

Benedetto leans in and presses his lips to mine. Emotion wells up within me, overflowing in my chest. I close my eyes and imagine classical music in my ears, filling me with a heavenly sound, romantic and overwhelming.

I swirl my tongue around Benedetto's lips, surrendering to his possessive touch, whimpering as he keeps me locked in his firm arms. He holds my body snug, refusing to let me go.

This man is my savior. My rescuer. My teddy bear in shining armor.

Tonight, he proved he has evenmorethan what it takes to be my Daddy. He’s so much better than the men who hurt me in this shit hole, the men who used me for my body, refused to treat me like a human being, and didn't respect my consent.

Whereas they took without asking, Benedetto was hesitant to take at all. But not anymore. With his lips on mine, I know that no matter what happens, no matter what enemies try to hunt me down, he'll keep me safe.

Fuck everyone else in the world. Benedetto will save me and I'm lucky to be his boy.

"I love you, Daddy."

“I love you too, angel." Benedetto rubs his mammoth palm on my ass. "That must've been so scary being back in Room B."

"It was." I kiss his lips. "But you know what?"

"What, baby boy?"

"I pictured my Daddy saving me." I whisper these words into his mouth, communicating them from the depths of my heart. "Only Daddy could break down the walls of this building. You rescued me. You helped me get through this terrible moment."

Benedetto kisses me again. This time, it's not the hungry kiss like before. No, it's one packed with passion, love, and everlasting kindness.

He envelops me in his enormous body, and I burrow into his chest like a baby field mouse, a field mouse who evil owls have tormented in a prairie field, but who finally finds a nice Papa Bear to protect him from the evil predators.

Benedetto is my Bear and I'm the luckiest boy in the world.

Benedetto sets me on the ground. He releases his grip on my hands, but he's barely pulled his fingers away from mine when the figure steps out of the darkness.

I squint my eyes. It's a young man, thin and frail. He wears a black hoodie and holds a knife in his hand. The knife drips in blood, glistening in the waxing dawn light.

My heart stops dead in my chest. "Look, Daddy." I point to the figure.

"Who's that, angel?" Benedetto tenses.

"Don't worry." I squeeze his hand. "It's Ollie."
