My jaw drops. Holy shit. "You're joking."

"He nearly died after one of your Daddy’s associates shot him.” Ollie cackles. "You should've seen when I cut his dick off and finished him off. Now I need to find the three Diavolo brothers who got away."

"I can’t believe you’re a killer."

"The warehouse changed me." Ollie tucks his knife away. "You, me, Finn, and Sparrow needed to do terrible things to survive."

My heart tremors in my chest. "So what will you do now?" I sniffle. "You can stay with us if you need to. My Daddy will let you have a spare room."

"No." Ollie shakes his head. "I have a list of names of men who hurt us. The client list I stole."

"I want revenge." Ollie's voice echoes throughout the parking lot.

Everything comes crashing back. Ollie always had a temper, one that sprung out of nowhere. He suffered some of the worst abuse out of all of us.

It's hard to imagine that a boy who turned eighteen less than two months ago is an experienced killer, but I believe it in his case.

I place my hand on his shoulder. "I'm here for you. Just like you were here for me. If you need anything, reach out."

Ollie smirks. "I'm glad you're safe." He lets out a low laugh. "I guess I don't need to look after you anymore."

"Thank you for being my rock of support. I'll never forget it."

"Good." Ollie shoots me a stern look as he steps into the darkness. "Because I don't want to be anyone's protector again. I want revenge. Especially against the one man who hurt me more than all."

I know instantly that this is his best friend’s Dad. He promised to keep Ollie safe no matter what, to protect him, to rescue him from the evils of the world. Ollie’s furious with this man for giving up on him so easily after he was abducted.

Ollie departs and then a moment later, I'm alone in the parking lot.

I return to Benedetto and wrap my arms around him. "My friend Ollie's a killer."

"What do you mean, boy?"

I tell Benedetto about the guards Ollie murdered and the injection he gave me. I tell him that's why I’ve remembered nothing about my identity.

Until now.

"My last name isn't Bettencourt, Daddy." I hug Benedetto as hard as I can. "It's Ji-Yeong."

Benedetto cracks his neck. "Ji-Yeong?"

"Yes. The turtle boy’s name was Wesley Bettencourt. That’s his last name, not mine."

Benedetto furrows his brow. "I've seen the pictures of Wesley Bettencourt when he was twelve. He’s the famous missing Bettencourt boy. You look exactly like an older version of him.”

I nod. "The boys in the basement thought we were identical twins before he died."

"Did someone inject him with drugs, too?"

"Our captors did it every month." I crack my knuckles.

“Why did Ollie inject you with drugs again?”

"Ollie gave me one final dose so I wouldn't spill the beans about our escape plan. If I told someone he had a way out through the air vent, they'd patch it up and then he couldn’t help the other boys."

It's crazy how much I fucking remember now. I had this exact conversation with Ollie before he pushed me out of the manhole. I agreed to take one last dose.

"Sweet boy." Benedetto pulls me close. "I still have some questions. First, your DNA came up as a hit for Wesley Bettencourt, but you claim you’re two separate people. We must get to the bottom of that. But I’m glad your memories are coming back. This sounds like a common drug sex traffickers inject their victims with."
