When Kit finishes the last of her drink, I stand to get refills, but a tug on my pants slows me down. “Wait for me,” she murmurs with a smile that promises a good time in the kitchen.

Unfolding her long legs and putting her bare feet on the floor, I take her hands and bring her up. I don’t step back to give her space, so her chest presses to mine and her smile turns up a few notches. My dick thickens in my pants and presses against her belly, and thankfully, the only other person who notices is Tink – not Jack. She smirks and goes back to pretending not to lean against Jon.

I’ll keep her secrets. She’ll keep mine.

I clutch Kit’s hand in mine and lead her into the kitchen. “What do you want to drink, babe?”

“Just a soda, please. The beer’s making me bloated.”

I take a can of cream soda from the fridge and pop the tab open, and watching her slide her beautiful ass onto the counter, I step between her legs and set her drink down beside us. “You’re so beautiful.” I run my hands along her silky thighs and my lips along her jaw.

“I love you, Bobby.”

“I love you too, babe.” I run my fingers along the hem of her shorts. “You having a fun night?”

“Yeah. Turns out I kinda love your brothers. They’re fun to hang out with. You?”

I laugh softly. “Yeah, they’re alright. Mostly I just love hanging out withyou. They can leave at any point, and that would be okay.”

She snickers, and with her soft hands cupping my face, she brings my eyes up to meet hers. “Hey, Bobby?”

“Hmm?” I nibble at her neck.

“Do you want to stay over tonight?”

“Mmhmm.” I nibble on her collarbone and imagine all the things I intend to do to her body in a couple short hours. “Yes, please.” My brothers can leave now. Get the fuck out. It’s time for bed.

“Um… Do you want to stay over every night?” She hesitates. “That is, do you want to live here?”

Her nervous question snaps me out of my lust filled daze. My head whips back and our eyes meet. “I, uh, really? Um…”

“Oh, my God! Shit!” She brings her hands up to cover her reddening face. “I’m sorry. Never mind! Please, just forg–”

“Whoa up. Hold on, babe.”

“No. I’m sorry! Don’t answer that question, I’m begging you. Forget I mentioned anything.”

“Can you stop? Let me speak. Okay?”

“Nooo,” she groans. “You hesitated, and now you feel pressured.”

I lean forward until our lips collide. If she won’t stop talking, then I’ll make her. I kiss her until her panicked hands slow and her lips soften, then pulling back, I stare into her eyes. “Can I speak now?”

She’s terrified, her cheeks still burn red, but with a shy smile, she nods. “Do it quick. Tear off the Band-Aid.”

I laugh and press a kiss to her nose. “You need to relax, baby. I didn’t hesitate for the reason you think; you just took me by surprise, that’s all. Little miss‘I like to run away from Bobby all the damn time’now wants me to move in? Are you sure? I probably won’t put my laundry away. And my socks tend to lose their mate. I like to eat shitty food, except when I’m prepping for a fight, and for those months, I eat protein, and then I fart a lot.” She hiccups on a laugh. “You know‘he’s still trying to impress the pretty girl’Bobby. But the real me wakes up at the ass crack of dawn to go for a run. I might accidentally wake you. The real me pouts if you sit too far away on the couch when you’re mad at me.”

Her eyes sparkle. “I’m never mad at you.”

“But you will be when I wake you up and leave crumbs on the counter and forget to put my laundry away.”

“I promise not to sit too far away on the couch when I’m mad.”

I scoff. “You say that now, because your ass ain’t mad.”

She snickers. “I can see my future so clearly. You’re just a big pouty bear who wants a hug.”

“You’re right, and I’m not even ashamed to admit it, baby. It’s who I am. I don’t want you to be mad at me. I don’t want you to run from me.”
