I didn’t know what any of Nina’s moves were called. Only that she was the best out there and I was proud of her.

“Thanks for coming.”

Beau nudged me with the flowers.

“Oh. These are for you.” I gave her the bouquet of bright flowers. Beau pointed me in the right direction, but I’d picked them out myself.

You’ll learn.

Yeah, I would.

“They’re so pretty! Look, Grace.” She tilted the bouquet toward her sister.

Bobby waved. “Hello. Your dad is here too.”

“Hi, Daddy.” She tucked herself into his side and he kissed the top of her head.

“You were spectacular.”

Nina’s cheeks turned pink. “Thanks.”

“Hey, before we go to Ma’s I have something important I want to ask you two.” I motioned between Nina and Grace, then slung my arm around Beau.

“What is it?” Grace asked, ever curious.

“This is my-er-this is Beau.” We hadn’t mentioned we were married yet.

Two big sets of eyes peered at her. She was radiant. She wowed me, so I figured she probably impressed two young girls too.

“Hi. Nina and Grace, right?” Beau held out her fist and they bumped.

“Right,” they chorused.

“She’s really special to me—”

“Are you getting married, Uncle Cal?” Grace practically screeched.

“Yeah. We want you to be in the wedding. If you’re not busy,” I added quickly.

“Like we get special dresses and tiaras?”

“Bridesmaids don’t wear tiaras,” Nina said like her sister was annoying.

“You can if you want,” Beau said. “Who’s going to stop us?” She grinned.

“I’ve never been a bridesmaid. This is going to be great!” Grace jumped up and down. “Daddy, I’m going to be a princess.”

“You already are, sweetheart.”

“So we can put you down for a yes?” I asked as if uncertain.

“Yes!” they said unison.

“Do you girls like to shop? Because I know some fabulous places and I could use help picking out colors for the wedding.”

“Shopping!” Nina shrieked.

Even Grace couldn’t contain her excitement as they did a little happy dance.
