After her shower, she pulled her laptop out of the desk drawer to go through and answer her emails. As much as her cell could perform all those functions, she didn’t utilize it for that. She preferred answering her emails the way she’d always done it.
One particular email caught her attention, and she quickly pulled it up.
“Good day, Miss Hamilton,
Regarding our conversation last week, I would like to officially welcome you to Oak Harbor Fire Department. We are happy to have you join our family for however long you will be with us.
You are welcome to stop by at any time that is convenient and a representative will always be on hand to answer your questions, provide information on the department’s operations and make your time with us as smooth as possible.
Thank you again for your willingness to engage with us and I look forward to working with you.

After shooting Donny an email thanking him for his warm welcome, she went to the closet to change her clothes before grabbing her camera case and heading out.
“I’m heading out to the fire station. I’ll be back in a few,” she informed Cora, who sat on the porch admiring the view.
“Okay, be safe.”
“Thanks, Sis. I will.”
