“My favorite place in the city.” I give him a smile and watch him look around at the branches that are wrapping us up into our own space.

“I can see why it’s your favorite. It’s like we aren’t in the park anymore, it’s a completely different place.”

“Exactly.” I pull him over to the tree and we both sit at the trunk side by side.

“Close your eyes.” I see him narrow his eyes and tilt his head. I give him a smile.

“Okay, I’m trusting you Ms. Pierce.” I laugh and follow with closing my eyes.

“Now just listen.” I hear him take a few even breaths and listen to the branches of the trees swaying in the light breeze. He doesn’t say anything, but I can hear his breaths start to pick up, but before I can open my eyes to see why, I feel his lips on mine again. It’s the gentlest kiss I’ve ever had in my life and my whole body has tingles when he places one of his hands on my cheek.

The kiss doesn’t last long or progress any further, I’m left wanting more when his lips leave mine and don’t return. I finally open my eyes to see him staring at me and all I want to do is jump into his lap and take him right here under this tree.

“You’re beautiful Allison. I always want you to know that!” I smile and try to control the uncontrollable beating of my heart. My confusion interrupts this beautiful moment, and I can’t seem to get rid of it this time.

“What are we doing?” His look changes to apologetic and I want to hit myself for ruining this moment.

“I shouldn’t have…”

“Are you sure?” He stops and bites his bottom lip making his jaw tense and it takes everything in me to ignore the wetness that is pooling in between my legs.

“No.”

“Dex, what are we doing here? We haven’t seen each other in seven years and now we have kissed each other three times. Are we just going to continue to doit and continue to act like it never…” Before I can finish my sentence, he grabs my face and kisses me again.

“All I know is that I get this feeling around you that I can’t seem to control. I can’t take it slow with you for some reason. I want all these things and it’s so hard to keep them a bay when you’re around me. Tell me if this is too much for you.”

I’m at a loss for words with his confession and don’t say anything for a moment. He gives me the time to process the information because he doesn’t say anything to break the silence.

“This isn’t funny if you’re trying to play with me right now.” His look changes in an instant.

“I would never do that to you Ally.” I give him a half smile while trying to understand all of this.

“H-How would we…” I sigh and try to form a coherent sentence for this man.

“You’re my professor Dex. How would we even be able to take this further without getting you in trouble.” I see his shoulder drop and can see that he is thinking the same thing as me. Even though we are adults now, it would be looked at as favoritism if someone knew we were together, and I was doing good in class.Right?

“We could just test the waters at first. No one has to know except for us.” I raise my eyebrows and tilt my head like I didn’t hear him clearly.

“What?”

“Never mind, it was a stupid suggestion.”

“No, no, it could work. Just keep it behind closed doors until I’m done with your class and then we could come out and tell everyone.”

“You would want to do that? I feel like you deserve so much more than that Ally.”

You know how most containers have that max fill line on them. My heart is well over that line, and I don’t know how much longer before that container just overflows or completely bust with my love for this man.Love? It’s too early for that.He just admitted to having some kind of feelings for me, I can’t scare him off by bringing that word into the mix now too.

“Of course! If we really want to try at this, then we are going to have to be creative.” That earns me a smile that reaches those beautiful sky-blue eyes and a kiss on the forehead.

“Okay. Allison Pierce… Wait, should I say Dolan now that it’s your last name or is Pierce what you want to go by?” I laugh.

“Pierce is good. I’m planning on changing it back anyways.”

“Allison Pierce, would you like to be my sort of secret girlfriend for the next few months?” I can’t hold back my smile. This is not how I pictured this going but something is better than nothing.

“Yes. So where do we go from here?”
