“Thanks mom, I love you so much. I’ll see you in a few weeks.”

I hang up and let those tears fall down my face. Ever since moving here, I’ve cried a lot, but they have all been happy tears. It’s like this place is the complete opposite of my life in New York. I wipe my eyes and change into comfy clothes and decide to finally start filling those bookcases with the stacks of books on my living room carpet.

Chapter Twenty-Two

The past two weeks went by in a flash, it’s like I blinked, and we were in the last week of September. Dexter and I have kind of gotten the whole secret dating thing down now. We haven’t really gone out on any actual dates yet, but he comes over to my place every weekend. Last weekend he cooked dinner for me, and we spent the night on my couch. I was laying in between his legs as he read to me. I could have stayed there forever, that has sort of became our tradition.

When we aren’t together, we are constantly texting or video chatting. He told me about leaving my high school shortly after I graduated and started at John Hopkins. I was surprised that he left so soon after I graduated. When I asked him why he didn’t have any social media accounts, he laughed and showed me his Facebook. He temporarily disabled his account and would go back on once in a while to check in on his family and me, I guess.

I felt so overwhelmed that he had been checking in on my life and I didn’t know anything that was happening in his. If he left his Facebook open, then I could have realized that he has been single for a while and that the girlfriend I remember is now off married to someone else. I was shocked to find out all about his family, he is the baby out of five siblings. I was a bit envious when he said he had siblings, being the only child can get lonely sometimes.

I told him all about my parents and why I originally when to law school instead of pursuing writing. He was so understanding about everything, and it felt so natural to open up to him about everything.Well almost everything. We even started The Office over and are rewatching it together, in between reading books together.

I don’t know how we managed to slow down this much, but it makes it that much more exciting when I think of us actually making it to the end together. We only have to keep this up until December and then we can be the real deal, and hopefully have our first real date as a couple. I changed some parts in my book to match our current situation, it’s amazing how easy it is to write a story when you are actually living it. Well, some of the story is still not true, I haven’t slept with Dexter.Yet!I could have happened multiple times but every time we get close, he distances himself.

I don’t push the issue because sex isn’t that big of a deal. In my dreams I’ve fucked him multiple times, so I’ll have to live with those memories until we make them come true. I don’t want to push the agenda when we’ve finally gotten the whole taking it slow under wraps.

Today I head back to New York for the weekend for Isabelle’s Bachelorette party. I should feel nervous to be going back to where everything went wrong, but I’m so excited to see my

friends and family. I get my final bag packed when there’s a knock at my door. I already know that its Dexter to bring me to the airport.

“Come in, its unlocked.” He opens the door and gives me a look of worry through his squinted eyes.

“I hope you don’t say that all the time before looking out your peep hole.” I laugh and make my way towards him after he closes the door.

“Of course not.”

“I could have been a psychopath here to kill you.” I can tell that he is trying to be serious, but I can’t help but laugh at him.

“Oh, you’re so right Mister killer. Please don’t get me.” That brings a smile out of him, and I kiss him gently on his soft lips.

“You’re such a smart ass, you know that right.” I turn to walk back to the living room and turn slightly to give him a wink.

“Learned from the best.” He slaps my ass when I turn back around, and I gasp. As I turn around to look at him again, he has the biggest grin on his face.

“Did you just slap my ass, Dexter Laclaire?” I see the amusement in his eyes.

“Maybe, why? what would you do if I did?” I bite the bottom of my lip and try to control the pulsing in my needy pussy right now.

His look shifts again, and I can see the outline of his cock in his jeans.

“I would show you why doing that is a bad idea…unless you can take care of what’s needed afterwards.”

I say the latter in a quieter more seductive voice, and I expect him to distance himself like he has been, but something is different tonight. Maybe it’s me being gone for the weekend or maybe he is growing tired of us constantly flirting with each other without taking it further.

“And what would need to be done Ally.”

He takes a step closer to fill the space between us and I’m surrounded by the scent of cinnamon and something else I can quite pinpoint. I gulp and I can tell he notices the shift in my body language because he runs his finger down my jaw line and to my neck. He lowers himself and places a kiss the left side of my neck and another just above my collarbone. I moan as he continues to do the same on the other side. He presses himself against me and I want to reach down and free him from his pants, but I don’t.

“Tell me, what would you need?”

I take a shallow breath and clench my thighs together. I know he felt that because he has a smirk on his face.

“I need…”

I stop when one of his hands is up the back of my shirt and unclasps my bra. I let the straps slip down both my arms and pull them out from under my shirt. He pulls my shirt over so he can kiss my shoulder.

“Go on, use your words, Ally.” My heart is racing so fast that I’m waiting for it to beat out of my chest.
