“They don’t do holidays much anymore. My whole family is scattered around the states, and it’s hard to get together for every holiday. We usually plan for one big family reunion and celebrate all the missed holidays then.” I’m a bit in shock that they don’t do every holiday since Dexter said they’re all about family. As I’m packing my car with all my books I look back at my apartment and smile. It may have not seemed like a lot to some people, but it was my chapter one. My heart grows bigger when he says that. Just the thought of being able to come home to this man every day is a dream come true. I kiss him and turn back to the apartment and drop my key off in the mailbox. Thankfully Linda rented to me monthly and I wasn’t technically breaking the lease by moving out now. I get in my car and make my way to my new home, hopefully my forever home.
Chapter Thirty
We grab our bags from the baggage claim and make our way outside the airport. Its colder here than it was back home, and I’m surprised we haven’t gotten any snow yet since it’s the end of November. I see our uber parked near the door and we hop inside. I give the driver my parents address and then sink back into Dex’s arms.
“Are you excited to see your parents?” I sigh.
