Her hands glided behind his neck, and she reached up, molding her lips to his. He didn’t wait for more urging and covered her mouth with his, parting her lips, meeting her tongue in a passionate dance. His body hardened, just as hers softened against him.

“I want you, too, Erin,” he whispered between kisses. “I’ve missed you like hell.”

He scooped her up in his arms and strode to his cottage, kicking the door shut behind him and continuing to his room.

In a frenzy of passion, they undressed, discarded their clothes, and collapsed on his bed, caressing and kissing each other’s naked body. Her cheek pressed against his heart, her hair tickled his chin, and her arms crept around his body, holding on to him with a tight desperation that he suspected had a lot to do with fear.

He swayed against her and kneaded her breast. She stroked his back and chest as he moved against her, and the sweet friction built between them like the start of a long, hot fire.

His fingers swept between her legs, caressing the heat, feeling the dampness that told him how much she wanted him. His lips followed, branding her with his passion and the promise she was the only one he wanted. She gasped as he left her, and protected himself, and moaned, as he stretched above her and thrust into her warm core.

Their bodies in harmony, they found the tempo that bound them together. Waves of ecstasy throbbed through them, and they exploded in a downpour of fiery sensations.

Nestled in the cocoon of his arms and warm body, Erin sighed in contentment, and then shuddered with worry.

“I love you, Tim. Don’t ever leave me,” she cried against his neck.

“Never my love. I won’t let the past destroy our present.”

“Where do we go from here?”

He sent her a quizzical look. “I’ve prepared a list of…of requests, but I’m not sure if you want to see them.”

“That bad?” She chuckled, yet her heart hammered in her chest.

“Let’s get dressed and have that cup of coffee. I may need it if you send me flying.”

Gathering her courage, she heaved a deep breath, and slipped into her clothes.

“Show me your list,” she said when they sat at the kitchen table in front of a new and hot cup of coffee.

“I printed it for you. It’s a sort of a contract.” He handed her a sheet of paper.

How would she fare against an experienced lawyer?

“What if I don’t understand your legal lingo?”

“It’s very simple. Anyhow you can ask as many questions as you want.”

She winced and forced herself to read.

1- Today we are turning the page on the sad past and we are starting a new happy life.

We pledge not to talk about the past, the plane crash, the betrayal, and our late rivals.

She met his gaze and sobered. “I agree. Should I initial?”

“If you want. I will, too.”

2- Our children should grow happy, respecting and cherishing their late parents’ memories.

We pledge to answer the children’s questions about their late parents with respect and compassion.

“Absolutely. I heartily agree and will initial.”

3- To protect our feelings without hurting our children’s feelings, we should remove all souvenirs from the past to the children’s rooms, and make albums of the pictures for each kid to save with love.
