“No!”

With a quiet tsk, I tighten my bathrobe around my waist and push open the door, only to find Asili tucked soundly under his thick covers with nothing but his big blue eyes and mess of hair visible from between the sheets. He looks like he’s grinning under there, and as he snuggles even further down, I find a reluctant smile pulling at my lips.

“You tricked me,” I murmur in pretend shock, and he giggles and burrows entirely under the sheets—such a change in attitude from less than twenty minutes ago.

“Can you bring me a glass of milk, please? I’m not sleepy,” he muffles out from under the duvet, and I’m reminded of a young Elena, who would demand one thing after anotherfrom our mom in an effort to delay bedtime.

I roll my eyes good-naturedly; this is still a massive improvement from tears and tantrums. “Sure, honey, I’ll get you some milk. Warm or cold?”

“Warm!”

I shake my head and shut the door behind me, but as I head to the kitchen and pass Tzelik’s bedroom, I notice in the darkness an odd, dim blue light glowing through his slightly ajar door, and without even thinking about it I turn my gaze towards it. When I see Tzelik’s bare white back on display as he fiddles with something over his bedside table, a flashing image of him standing over me in the shower and touching me zips through my brain, and for a split second, I’m frozen on the spot mid-step.

His back muscles shift in the soft light, and when he turns to the side, I see that the faint glow of blue is actually coming straight out of his chest—from the space right over his heart.

What in the galaxy? Do Zvezdi have glowing hearts?

I’m rooted to the spot for a moment longer, curious, and surprised at the sight of the light glowing straight out of his chest. And then he flips back his bed covers, hooks his thumbs over his slacks, and pulls them straight off himself.

It all happens so quickly I don’t even register that I’m staring at the roundest, firmest, most perfect white ass that I’ve ever seen in my life before the loud gasp slips unbidden from my lips.

Tzelik whips his head towards me, and for a split second that lasts an entire eternity, we make electric eye contact.

I have never been more shocked, mortified, horrified at a situation in my entire life, and I am out of there so quick I’m sure I’ve left a silhouette of myself hanging in the air behind me like in old cartoons.

I race down the stairs and into the kitchen and then lean back against the counter-top and cover my face with my hands, my breath puffing shallowly from my chest and an embarrassed groan on my lips.

If I could maybe stop perving on my boss tonight, that would be absolutely great.

What am I going to do about this? He saw me standing there and looking at his naked body! His absolutely gorgeous, sculpted body that doesn’t have an inch of fat over the entire taut expanse of flesh—

God! I am such a creep!

I scrub my hands over my face and head towards the fridge, pulling out a jug of milk with shaky fingers. I don’t know how I’m going to handle seeing him again after this.

And I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to look at him the same way again…
