Kyle leaned back against the chair, about to take another sip of his beer, when he suddenly sat up. “Let me ask you a question. Regardless of Sarah’s baby, ten years from now, who do you want to wake up next to? Sarah or Bella?”

“It’s more complicated than that, and you know it.”

“Okay, let’s simplify it then. Play a little game with me. I’ll throw some shit out there. Don’t think, just answer.”

I nodded.

“Whiskey or beer?” he asked.

“Beer.”

“Tits or ass?”

“Tits.”

“Blond or Brunette?”

“Brunette.” He wasn’t even giving me a second to think before he asked the next one.

“Lights on or lights off?”

“On.”

“Top or Bottom?”

“Top.”

“Sarah or Bella?”

“Bel-”Fuck.

Kyle smirked. “See. Simple. Don’t marry the wrong woman, asshole.”

“You’re the asshole,” I muttered.

“Probably.” He smiled. “Want to watch the game?” he asked, grabbing the remote.

He had the game on before I could even answer. But I didn’t care about the game. I just wanted to know how the fuck I would ever get over Bella.

Chapter Seven

Bella

Thankfully, Brendan wasbetter today. Since I had the day off, I brought him down to the beach and let him run around. It was the same small beachy area my mom used to bring me to when I was little. I still loved visiting this spot because it always made me feel close to her. My eyes traveled down to her locket that hung around my neck, just barely visible in my V-cut shirt where it fell between my breasts.

At the sound of someone approaching, I looked over my shoulder to see Ashley.

“Mom said I would find you here.” She sat next to me, and Brendan came running to her.

“Ent Assy,” Brendan squealed as she scooped him up into her lap.

“How’s my favorite nephew?”

I rolled my eyes. “He’s your only nephew.”

“For now,” she mumbled.

I narrowed my eyes in her direction. “Not funny.”
