I sat back in my chair. "YoursonRené?" That put an interesting slant on things. "I want to meet him."

Like, now.

"Prince Vitali—"

I glanced at the man sitting across from Castellano, taking in his pale face and downcast eyes. "You are mated to Lady Castellano and yet you send her off to a club with your son while you romance your lover? I expect better of my people."

"It's not what you think, sir. I'm not—"

When I held up my hand, Lord Castellano's lips snapped together. "You will return to your wife and then advise your son that I will see him at my hotel at eight o'clock in the morning. He can retrieve his jacket then."

It's not like he would be leaving again, not when he realized the life I could offer him. A black leather jacket was nothing compared to what I could provide for him.

I snapped my fingers and then directed my guards to escort Pierre to a guestroom at the hotel. He was to remain under guard until I could decide what to do with him.

I really didn't know what I was going to do with Pierre, especially considering he was a vampire and not a gryphon. Most likely, I would send him to Prince Visconti to deal with.

Vampires were outside of my domain.

I couldn't allow my mate's heart to be broken by his father's infidelities.

"Sir!" Lord Castellano shouted as he jumped to his feet. "You can't take Pierre!"

I lifted one eyebrow, daring him to argue with me. "I can't?"

Castellano swallowed hard.

"Go home to your mate, and remember to send your son to me in the morning. If he's not there by eight o'clock, I will send my guards for him."

I would not be denied my mate.

"Prince Vitali, please. You don't understand."

"Go!"

Lord Castellano's jaw clenched before he spun and stormed out of the restaurant. I grabbed one of the glasses of wine on the table and downed the entire thing before standing and following the man out. I climbed into the back of my limo and directed my driver to take me back to the hotel.

Now, I just had to wait until my mate arrived.

Chapter Four

~ René ~

Someone was going to die, and Prince Alessandro Vitali was at the top of my list. I ignored the doorman as I strode into theVilla Spalletti Trivelliand made my way to the front desk.

"Prince Vitali's suite, please." I had no doubt the prince of gryphons had a suite of rooms. "My name is René Castellano. He's expecting me."

The lady behind the counter didn't even give me a second glance as she picked up the phone to confirm my words, not that I was surprised. I'd dressed for the occasion, putting on a three-piece suit. I'd even taken out my eyebrow piercing.

I looked like I belonged in the fancy five-star hotel.

The suit made my skin itch, but I had to play a part to get what I wanted, and what I wanted was Pierre returned to my father, who was devastated right now. He had practically been in tears when I left him at his hotel being comforted by my mother.

The lady behind the counter snapped her finger and a bellboy ran over. "Take Mr. Castellano up to the presidential suite."

I followed the bellboy to the elevator. I was kind of impressed by the appearance of the small cubicle. It had a very art deco nineteen-twenty vibe. A lot of chrome, glass, and gold.

The girl at the counter had called up to let the prince know I was coming, so I was in no way surprised when the elevator doors slid open and two enforcers were waiting for me.
