"Sir, no one has entered or left the suite just as you ordered."

"Good." He'd be allowed to keep his head. "What about the estate? Has anyone come onto the estate since we talked last?"

"Nothing was reported to me, sir, but I'd like to call and confirm before I give you a definitive answer."

Now the man was thinking with his head.

I waved a dismissive hand at him. "Go ahead."

Sisko pulled out his cell phone and started talking on it while I walked over to rest my hands on René's shoulders. René jumped up and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tight.

"Thank you so much, Alessandro."

My jaw clenched as I tried to control my growing anger. "It never should have happened in the first place."

René kept his arms wrapped around me as he tilted his head back and looked up at me. "We can't go back and change things already done, Alessandro. We can only deal with the here and now and plan for the future."

He might be right, but I could make damn sure that the future was taken care of when it came to my new family.

"What do you mean I'm not allowed to enter?" someone shouted outside the double doors. "Do you know who I am?"

My eyes narrowed.

"Sisko, Tashi, guard them."

I waited until the two men stood guard over my family before turning to face the door, taking a step to place myself between the door and the others.

When I nodded, one of the guards reached over and opened the door. I was in no way surprised to see an angry Benito standing there. He gave the two guards at the door a look that promised retribution before storming in.

"Sir, I—"

I held up my hand to stop him from speaking before holding it out to René, who smirked as he took it. I drew him to my side, wrapping an arm around his waist.

"You haven't had the chance to meet my true mate, René Castellano, son of Alpha Armando Castellano, Alpha Mate Antoinette Castellano, and Armando's true mate, Pierre Etra." I enjoyed watching the blood drain from Benito's face as I gestured to each person as I spoke.

"S-Sir..."

I pointed to Pierre. "I believe you're already acquainted with my true mate's uncle Pierre."

"Y-Your t-true m-m-mate's uncle?" Benito stammered.

"Yes." I took a lot of satisfaction from saying that, and not only because of how it made Benito start to tremble. René, Armando, Antoinette, and Pierre were now my family.

"You wouldn't happen to know how Pierre got here"—I leaned closer to him—"would you?"

"Sir." Benito licked his lips as he looked at René. "I don't understand. This man is your true mate?" He nodded toward Pierre. "Not him?"

I crossed my arms. "That is correct."

"But he said—" Benito snapped his lips closed before covering his mouth with his hand.

But I had heard him.

"He who?" I growled. "And what did he say?"

"Sir."

"Speak!" I shouted as I clenched a fist, turning it to stone. "Who told you about my mate?"
