Paolo's phone?

I turned to Alessandro's assistant and held out my hand. "Give me your phone."

Paolo handed over without protest.

I swiped my finger across the screen and glanced through a few of his apps. Most of them were the basic stuff you'd see on a cell phone, but there was a schedule app as well as notes and addresses.

Nothing looked out of place...At least not until I saw a little red icon in the top right corner. It was one I had never seen before. I went into the system section of the phone and surfed around until I found the one thing I was looking for.

Well, actually, it wasn't something I was looking for specifically, but it was the one I didn't recognize. When I hit that button, I started to smile.

This actually explained a lot.

"You cloned your brother's phone, Benito. I must say, I am impressed, and I was wrong. You do have to have pretty big balls to clone the phone of the prince's assistant and give that information out to others. That has to be a betrayal of rules at the very least. Maybe even treason."

"Treason?" Benito gasped. "I didn't do anything that could even remotely be considered treason."

"No?" I lifted my eyebrows in query. "Then what would you call it when you give out confidential information to people trying to kill the prince? Pretty sure that makes you a traitor."

"He knows who the real traitor here is." The man sneered at me, looking me up and down as if I was a piece of dirt under his feet. "Having a bloodsucker for a mate? Seriously?"

Did they really think that was all I was?

"He's trying to save gryphons everywhere from monsters like you," he snapped. "Just like I am."

"You're Alpha Ramirez, aren't you?" I knew I'd seen this guy somewhere before. I glanced at the third guy. Him, I didn't know. "And who are you?"

The man drew himself up into a self-important stature. "I am Alpha Santos."

I returned the smirk they had given me. "I've heard of you. You're the alpha that wants Prince Vitali to fund your entire lazy-ass clan because they refuse to work, right?"

"It's his duty!" he shouted as if he had said it many times before.

I was sure he had.

"Is it?" I asked.

I'd heard about this guy from Alessandro. He wanted him and his entire clan to live on my mate's money.

"If you're here, does that mean you haven't told your clan about the ninety-day time limit to find employment?"

The alpha started to sputter.

"I'm right, aren't I?" I chuckled. "Well, you'd better get to it. Time is running out."

"That will never happen!" the man shouted. "The prince is going to give us all the money we want."

I snorted. "Doubt it."

"Oh, it'll happen." Alpha Ramirez smiled maliciously as he took a step forward. "Especially since I am the next prince."

I stared at him, waiting for him to say more. When he didn't, a little bit of laughter burst from my lips. "You? The next prince?"

My laughter burst from my mouth until I was full blown laughing, holding my stomach as tears of amusement rolled down my cheeks.

That was simply hilarious.

"That is enough!"
