"None," I replied. I realized it had been a while since they'd seen my mate, but it shocked me a little that it had been that long. We had all been very busy. "They found the tracker when they did an X-ray, but the doctor said he would just...uh...He told us to just let nature take its course. With the help of a lot of prune juice."

My mother's eyes rounded. "Oh."

"Yeah, he spent a couple of days in the bathroom, but at least it cleaned him all out. No more tracker."

"What happened to the clans that lost their alphas?" my father asked.

I frowned. "Didn't Alessandro tell you?"

My father shook his head. "I've heard some rumors, but I didn't know whether to believe them or not. The investigation has been going on for a couple of months, so I wasn't sure if that had been dealt with or not."

"Oh, well, after the investigation was concluded, King Constantine put new alphas in charge of the clans. Last I heard, several of Alpha Santos's clan members that had refused to get jobs left the clan, but the others went out and found jobs and there haven't been any problems with them."

"What about Alpha Ramirez's clan?"

I snickered. "King Constantine put the fear of god into them."

I had truly expected to find some traitors in that clan, but so far, everyone was pretty squeaky clean. I was reserving judgment for a few more months just to be sure. I had no sympathy for anyone that threatened my family.

"Alessandro or you didn't get into any trouble for what you did, did you?" my mother asked.

"No, of course not. King Constantine fully understood that I was defending myself and Alessandro and his guards were defending us. We've been totally cleared of any wrongdoing."

I had been a little worried about that, too, especially since I had killed Benito. Alessandro had assured me that there would be no problem. It was a clear sign of self-defense.

I glanced toward the door when I heard it start to open. Alessandro walked over to me. When I stood, Alessandro scooted behind me and wrapped his arms around me. I started to lean back against him when our special guest walked into the room.

My mother gasped. "Bella."

The bond that pulsed between them was powerful enough to push me back into Alessandro.

"Hello, Annie."

Annie?

Antoinette...Annie. I guess it made sense.

My mother swallowed tightly. "What are you doing here?"

"Prince Visconti called me at the urging of Prince Vitali. He said that the circumstances that had kept us apart all those years ago have changed." Her brow flickered as she glanced to the two men sitting by the window. "But..."

I saw the problem immediately. "Ms. Rinaldi, my name is René. I'm the son of Antoinette and Armando Castellano. Prince Vitali is my true mate."

Her smile wobbled a bit as she gave me a respectful bow of her head. "It's very nice to meet you. I see a lot of your mother in you."

"It's the good looks, right?" I wagged my eyebrows until Isabella let out a little laugh.

"Hey," my father said. "I'm good looking, too."

"You're smart, Father. I get my brains from you, but Mother has all the charm."

My father rolled his eyes.

I glanced back at Isabella. "Have you ever had the chance to meet my father, Alpha Armando Castellano?"

"We've never formally been introduced," Isabella said. "But I know who he is." She bowed her head respectfully. "How do you do, sir?"

"It's very nice to finally meet you, Bella. Antoinette has told me a lot about you."
