“You got it.” I nod, grab the bottle of water, and turn around to head upstairs.

While I wait for the water to get warm, I admire my now naked body in the mirror. Aside from the sweat glistening on my skin, I like what I saw. Showering, intrusive thoughts of Uncle Davey’s ass floats across my mind and continue to wander to those forbidden places. I feel myself becoming wet as I lather my body in soap. My hands roam over my stomach, reaching toward my breasts. I let out a moan and tweak my nipples. A vision of Uncle Davey taking his shirt off has one hand sliding down between my legs. I gasp as I feel my wetness slipping out of me. I dip a finger between my folds and moan. Fuck, this feels good. Adding another finger into my pussy, I imagine it’s Uncle Davey pinching my nipples and grabbing my tits. Fuuuuck. My fingers are sliding in and out, but I need more. I remove my fingers and start to rub my clit. Ahh, yes. Right there. I moan as I slide my fingers back in my pussy. I am imaging Uncle Davey’s fingers moving in and out of me as I hold on to his neck and kiss him. So close. I pump my fingers a few more times and come with his name on my lips.

Coming down from the high that is my imagination, I hear a knock on the door. “Come on, Bug. I’m going to be late for work.”

I jump, baffled. “Sorry! Be right out.” I make quick work of rinsing the conditioner out of my hair and drying off. Then while stepping out of the shower, I realize I forgot to grab my clothes. So I wrap the towel around me and open the door. Uncle Davey’s standing there, and his jaw is slightly dropped, or so I think. I blink and look back at him and see nothing’s out of place. Did I just see what I thought I saw? A smile appears on my face as I walk to my bedroom to prepare for the day.

Chapter Eight

DAVID

Damn, was my mind playing tricks on me, or did my little bug look different? I shake off the thought and jump in the shower to wash the grime away. Sky was gone by the time I came back downstairs. I pull the lunch that Jessica packed for me out of the fridge and walk outside toward my car.

The workday seems to drag on forever, time seeming to stand still at times. There’s meeting after meeting with hardly any breaks. My day is blurred by images of our run this morning.

Sky looked at me intensely this morning, and then she quickly turned away when I caught her eyes. Nothing was out of the ordinary; yet, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was missing something. Was it the way her eyes sparkled against the water? What was it that caught her eye? I’m thinking back to what happened before the run, but nothing comes to my attention. I can’t shake the feeling of that little pep in her step after the run, though.

Later in the night, after dinner and a conversation with Sky about a school project of hers, I head outside with James. We’re sitting back, drinking beer, and just talking. My phone goes off, signaling a text, and I pull it out of my pocket.

Julie: We still on for tomorrow night?

I set it on the table without answering and take a long sip of my drink. “I don’t know if I want to go tomorrow.”

“Why not?”

“It’s too soon. I’m not sure I’m ready to go on a date.”

“It’s been three years. You’re ready to get back out there.” James laughs.

“Man, I know it’s been a while. But there’s a difference between grabbing coffee for a date and going to a masked club for a date. Coffee seems more friendly even though it’s a little intimate. A masked club is anything goes.”

“Exactly! Anything goes; that’s why you need to get back out there. You need to get laid, for one. And for another, you’re happy. Get your happy ass laid. You’ll feel better.”

I laugh and shake my head. “But a masked club?”

“Yeah, man. Jessica and I have been there. It’s not too bad. It’s not like the hip-hop club you’re thinking of. It’s more of a slow-moving, let’s have a drink and talk without all the bass-thumping kind of club. The masks just make it more ominous and just adds that extra level of intrigue. You’re not meeting a stranger, David. You’re picking Julie up and taking her to the club. If you don’t like it, you can leave.”

“I guess you’re right. I do need to get out there. Fuck, man. Kristie got me all sorts of fucked up.”

“That’s exactly why you need to jump back on the horse. Forget Kristie; she’s long gone. If all else fails, at least get laid tomorrow.”

I nod, set my beer down, and pick up the phone to text her back.

Me: Sure, I’ll pick you up at 9.

I set my phone back down. Jessica walks out with a glass of wine and a bucket of popcorn.

“What are we doing?” She offers me popcorn before setting it on the table.

I grab a handful, throw a piece in the air, and catch it in my mouth. “Nothing.”

James shakes his head and reaches for the popcorn. “We were talking about him and Julie and their date tomorrow night.”

“Oooh, that’s tomorrow? I ran into Julie at the store just the other day, and she seemed excited. Y’all will have fun. James and I have gone before, and we liked it. It wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be.”

“Yeah, he was just telling me about that. Yes, I’m hesitant about getting back out there, but Julie seems nice, so I’ll try. What’s the worst that’s gonna happen? We might click even more and start dating. I guess that wouldn’t be too bad.”
