“You need to go.” I glanced over my shoulder checking my brother hadn’t followed. “I think Knuckles recognised you. You have to leave.” I pressed a kiss to his lips, with every intention of making it a quick peck but I got lost in his lips as I did every time our mouths met.

Shouting pulled us apart and I shoved at Remy’s chest as I glanced over my shoulder, my panic rising within me. “Quick go. I’ll call you.”

Remy glared over my shoulder. “I’m not leaving you to deal with him when he’s as mad as a hatter.”

I cupped his cheek and tipped his face so that he was looking at me. “Please Remy. I’ll be fine I promise. He won’t hurt me.”

“Look at that! A Crow on Vultures territory. And with his paws on what’s ours too.” I could hear the smugness in my brother’s tone and I knew without even looking at him he’d have a smug smile on his face thinking all his Christmases had come at once. Knuckles was always itching for a fight with the Crows but because we had a truce—they keep to their streets; we keep to ours—he never had a chance to have a good beat down with one of them.

I spun on my heel and jumped into a verbal battle hoping to steal my brother’s attention for long enough to get Remy away. “The only person I belong to is myself. You need to remember that, Knuck.”

Knuckles rolled his eyes. “I’ll deal with you later, Sis. I can’t wait to see Prez’s face when I tell him what his princess has been up to.” He looked over his shoulder checking who else was around. My eyes fell to Remy, the look of betrayal that crossed his features tore my heart in two.

“Snake, take her inside,” Knuckles ordered. Snake had the nerve to look apologetic as he strode up to me, wrapping a hand around my upper arm.

“Get your hands off her,” Remy all but growled, giving me a spark of hope because even though I’d kept the truth from him it was obvious he still felt the need to protect me.

“This is Vultures’ business,” Snake said not sounding like he was convince by his own statement at all. It made me wonder who Remy actually was because the way Snake was avoiding his eyes made me think he was scared of the guy.

I was in two minds about what was the best thing for me to do, I felt like I needed to stay and protect Remy, but he was never going to leave or focus on himself if I wasn’t out of the way and safe. “I’ll be okay Rem. Just stay alive. Please,” I begged as Snake tugged me back to the club entrance.

“Grab him boys,” my brother called out as I was pulled over the threshold. The sound of fists hitting flesh brought tears to my eyes and had me digging my nails into Snakes arm in the hopes of escaping his hold and getting back outside to even up the odds.

If Remy was outnumbered he’d have no chance at escaping and knowing my brother he wouldn’t stop until the life was drained out of the man I loved.

Chapter Thirteen

ROOSTER

I didn’t bother to squirm in the chair I was tied to. I’d seen a lot of shit in my life and knew fighting them would only make the fuckers enjoy it even more. I watched them through one eye since the other was swollen shut from the pounding I took from Knuckles, the Vultures Vice President, back in the carpark. I gave as good as I got even though I was outmanned, and couldn’t hold back the lift of my lips when my eyes landed on his blood crusted nose.

“What the fuck are you smirking at?” He glared at me, and it only egged me on even more. “You’re in our torture chair and there ain’t no way you’ll be getting out of it in one piece. Nobody walks away from that chair alive.” His tone was menacing but it didn’t get the effect he wanted because I wasn’t stupid, I already knew I wasn’t gonna be breathing when I left this god-awful room. The minute they got me into that van I knew I was a dead man. I was just glad that Jez had been taken away and didn’t have to see it.

Knuckles threw a punch to my gut, which was open and clear for his shot since my hands were tied behind the back of the chair, so I had no option but to take it with a grunt. By the time I looked up someone was dragging him away from me.

“Get out him out of here,” a deep voice ordered.

“What the fuck? I want in on this. She’s my sister.” Knuckles had broken that bit of news in the carpark, so I didn’t even flinch at hearing it this time around.

Blaze, the Vultures President, stepped forward until he was in his VP’s face. “It looks like you’ve had your turn already. Now, are you going to follow my orders, or do I need to think about a setting up a vote for a new VP?”

Knuckles jaw clenched as he bit back whatever he wanted to say and stormed out the door. I really wanted to fucking hear what he was thinking but when Blaze slammed the door making it almost fall off the hinges and turned his attention to me, I decided I didn’t want him to be any angrier than he already was.

Blaze paced the room for a minute before picking something up off a table in the far corner. I couldn’t see what it was since his broad back was hiding most of the table and its contents from my view, but I heard the tell-tale hiss and click of a blow torch.

Shit! This was gonna fucking hurt. The sadistic smile on his face as he turned, only confirmed my thoughts.

“I thought we had a good understanding between our clubs, but it seems like you fucked that up all because you wanted to get your dick wet.” I bristled at that. What was between me, and Jez was more than that. Well, I thought it was until I found out she’d been hiding shit from me. Shit like her real fucking identity. Unaware of my internal musings Blaze carried on as he stepped in closer, the flame was so close to my cheek that I could feel the heat coming of it.

“You’re the VP of the Sinister Crows, not only does your Prez have a sister, but so do you. Two club princesses right there. What makes you think you could touch ours without retaliation?”

I couldn’t even argue with him because Blaze was right. If I’d known from the start that Jez was a damn club princess, I would never have laid a finger on her.

The door burst open and the Vultures’ Princess herself came in. I was in the middle of the room, her father standing over me on my right side, and our gazes locked instantly. Hers were full of fear.

“Stop!” Her voice was raised, and her fists clenched at her sides. “Don’t hurt him Dad. He doesn’t deserve it.”

“Bear, get her out of here.” Blaze stated not even turning his attention away from the flame in his hand. A big guy who’d been stood silent at the edge of the room walked over to Jez but before he could get close enough to reach her, she pulled out a gun and aimed it at his chest.
