“Jinx?” Shit even my sister knew who she really was. It made me wonder if I was the only clueless dipshit who didn’t know her real identity. Laci stepped back out of my arms and faced Jez. “You’ve been dating my brother?” Of course, she knew I was dating someone because she’d heard us through the night plenty of times, but Laci and Jez had never crossed paths in the mornings—or evenings. Laci quickly looked back at me concern in her watery eyes. “She’s Blaze’s daughter.”

“I know that now.”

“It seems there are a lot of explanations to be shared,” Ink announced, reminding me that he was still in the room and no matter what, at the end of the day I had a punishment coming my way. He glanced at his watch. “It’s getting late and I’m pretty sure we’ll all need level heads to get to the bottom of everything, so how about we all get some sleep and meet back here in the morning?”

I nodded and wrapped an arm around Jez’s shoulder. “We’ll sleep in my room here, if that’s okay with you, Prez?”

“Sure.” Ink dismissed us and stopped before Laci, reaching out a finger he gently traced over the bruise on her cheek. “You need to put some ice on this. And tomorrow you’ll be telling me exactly who did that to you.” The look he gave her made it clear there’d be no arguing with him on that and when she offered him a nod of agreement, he pressed a kiss to her forehead before he left the clubhouse without another word.

“Where is your room, Remy? I don’t think you’ll be staying on your feet much longer,” Jez stated, obviously feeling my weight getting heavier on her shoulders.

“Are you gonna need a hand?” Beans asked as he tore his eyes from my sister who was still staring at the door after Ink.

I shook my head. “No. Can you see that Laci gets home safe?”

“Here Princess, put this on your cheek,” The prospect suggested, holding out a bag of ice cubes towards Laci.

Laci reached out taking the bag with shaking hands. “Thanks.”

“Sure thing,” Beans Answered me with a nod. “Come on Lace, let’s get you home.”

Knowing my sister was in safe hands I directed Jez towards my room, well aware there was no chance of us celebrating my still being alive, because I’d be lucky if I made it to the bedroom before crashing.

At least I’d have the woman I loved, wrapped in my arms…right where she belonged.
