Emma picked up her phone and smiled.
Leo: How’s the drive going with Mister Grumpy Pants?
Emma: Better than expected.
Ravi: You dirty ho.
She chuckled.
Emma: Not THAT good.
Nicky: Have fun, but don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.
Emma: That doesn’t leave much.
“Who’s got you smiling so much?” Link asked, his voice tinged with a hard edge.
She cast a quick glance towards him. His fists were nearly strangling the wheel as his jaw clenched.
Emma’s brows drew together. He almost looked jealous, but that was impossible. Link didn’t think of her like that.
Ding!
“Just the guys.” She focused on her phone screen.
Nicky: Ouch!
Ravi: She’s got you pegged. LOL.
Asher: Hey! The only one doing any pegging will be me. Understood?
Leo: Em, we need you to come back soon. There are way too many dicks up here. We need our leading lady.
Asher: There can never be too many dicks. *winky face* *eggplant emoji*
Emma: I’ll be back in a couple weeks. You can all survive that long without my kitty.
Asher: Meow.
Emma: How’s Geo this week?
Ravi: . . .
Worry cinched her gut.
Emma: What?
Asher: I’m sure he’s okay.
Emma: But you don’t know?
Nicky: Look, babe, you’ve got enough to worry about right now. We’ll talk when you get back.
She sighed in frustration.
Emma: Just tell me! Is he okay?
Ravi: He’s fine. He’s safe. He’s just being a stubborn asshole.
