She turned towards him, a dreamy smile on her lips, her blue eyes sparking with humor. “That you might know your way around the female anatomy and left one woman very satisfied.”

“You’ve squirted before?” he asked, curious.

“Only with women.”

There was no use getting jealous. They both had a past. And this wasn’t even a relationship. He needed to remember that.

Link dragged his knuckle down her cheek. She shivered. His chest tightened, affection battering in his ribs like a caged bird trying to get out.

“What’s the plan for today? Back on the road?” she asked.

Their little bubble had to pop at some point, but it didn’t mean they had to rush it. This was the best sex of his life. Maybe it was the shared experience of loss and the journey of healing they were undertaking together, but he wanted to stay wrapped up in her just a little longer. He’d worry about the consequences later. “No. Let’s stay another day. How about we hit up the casino? Walk down the strip? Unless you think you’d be recognized.”

She smiled, joy sparking to life in her eyes. “Let’s order room service, take a shower, and I take care of this.” She wrapped her hand over his hard cock.

Link groaned his approval.

“Then we check out the blackjack table downstairs?”

“Sounds like a plan. Call it in.”

Emma didn’t hesitate. After grabbing the phone by the bed, she put in an order for a feast. “Twenty minutes.”

He rolled over her to the other side of the mattress as she laughed. He scooped her into his arms and carried her to the bathroom.

She clung to his neck as he leaned over to turn the shower on, not waiting for it to get warm. Screaming, she slapped his chest as he lifted her under the cold spray. “Asshole!”

He laughed, setting her onto her feet. Emma shivered, her teeth chattering. He leaned in, melding his mouth against hers, sucking the anger from her. Their tongues twisted together, soft lips brushing and teasing. She gripped the back of his head, pulling him closer as if his kiss was giving her life, like it was more important than oxygen.

She pulled away, dropping a couple inches as if she’d been on her tiptoes. Emma dragged her hands over his chest, flicking her tongue across his nipple, kissing her way down his body as she kneeled before him. The sight of this beautiful creature on her knees as hot water rained over them, steam fogging up the glass doors, created the illusion of the world falling away until it was just him and her.

Every muscle tensed in anticipation as her mouth parted. This tryst was temporary, but he’d bear her mark on his heart forever. He’d never be the same after this. Emma might be the one on her knees, but he was the one at her mercy. Sooner or later, everyone fell under her spell.

After the best blow job of his life and a hearty breakfast that probably cost way too much, they threw on some clothes. Emma grabbed her baseball cap and tied her hair into a braid running down her back. She traded her usual skinny jeans in for some white shorts that made her legs look like they went on for days and a black Breaking Benjamin T-shirt. Her leather bracelet and a pair of Doc Martens completed the look. She was effortlessly beautiful. Low maintenance and yet sexy as hell. His cock had a taste and instead of moving on, wanted more.

They headed down to the main floor, following the signs for the casino. After cashing in their money for chips, Emma wrapped her arm around his waist and tucked her palm in his back pocket like it was the most natural thing in the world. He rested his arm over her shoulders, guiding her towards the blackjack table with two empty seats.

“Good afternoon, ladies and gents. I’m Robert, your dealer. Go ahead and place your bets,” the young man in the dealer seat directed.

Emma took the seat to Link’s right, setting two red chips into the betting circle. He followed suit.

After the other players were done, the dealer laid out the first two cards for everyone faceup, and his own, with one facing down. It was Emma’s turn to decide what to do; she had a deuce and an eight. She tapped the table, hitting. Robert flipped over another card, revealing a queen. She was at twenty.

“Not bad, sweetheart.” Link winked.

She waved her hand over her card, letting the dealer know she was standing.

Link had a six of hearts and a seven of clubs. He tapped the table before the dealer gave him another card. A king of spades ended his turn, losing him the bet. “Damn it.”

Robert collected his chips, completing his turn. After the other players had gone, the dealer flipped his card, revealing an eight to join his ten.

“You won, ma’am.” Robert pushed the chips from his bet over into her pile.

Emma beamed. “This is so fun.”

God, that smile did things to him that he wasn’t entirely ready to face. “Because you won.”

“Do you need me to teach you how to play?” She smirked.
