“Want a beer?” Link offered.

“Nah, gotta get to the bar for my shift tonight. Wanted to check in on you.”

Link opened his arms. “As you can see, it’s another exciting night for me. Too wild for a man like yourself.” Link inhaled long and deep before letting it out. Maybe I should get out of here.

Mason snickered. “Well, I happen to know it’s about to get a lot more exciting.”

“Oh?” He straightened and headed for the driver’s side door.

“I figured you’d know what to do with this one.” Mason winked.

A flash of blond drew his attention to the entrance of the garage.

Emma.

She took a few steps forward, walking around the front of the vehicle. Link met her halfway, until they stood at the hood of the classic car. His eyes raked over her, drinking her in like water in the desert. From her pink Converse to her black, ripped skinny jeans, and the faded, long-sleeved band shirt to her soft, exposed neck and delicious lips he ached to kiss. Those blue eyes, unsure and watery, were no longer bruised and sunken.

“You’re here,” he said.

“And that’s my cue to leave.” Mason gave a mock salute out of the corner of Link’s vision. He couldn’t tear his eyes off Emma, afraid she was only a mirage.

He reached out his hand, needing to touch her. His palm coasted across her cheek to her neck, grabbing hold as he wrapped his other arm around her waist. Tingles raced up his arms, winding through him, setting his body ablaze. “I fucking missed you so much.”

She blinked, tears rolling down her pink cheeks. “I missed you too.”

He kissed her forehead, tucking her into his chest. Her arms hugged him tightly.

“I love you. So much,” he confessed.

“Me too.”

He pulled Emma back far enough to search her face. She wiped the tears away. The spark in her eyes was brighter than it had been the last time he’d seen her. He had so many questions, but he just wanted to savor every second she was in his presence. He’d wasted enough time when it came to Emma.

He wasn’t sure how, but they would work this out. The alternative was life without Emma, and that was no life at all.

“Link?” She said it like a plea.

“What do you need, sweetheart?” His body thrummed, every nerve ending alive and ready to do her bidding. Lust coursed through his veins, his senses heightened and aware.

She lifted her hand to the back of his neck, dragging his face to hers. “I need you.”

“You sure?”

“More sure than I have been of anything else in my life,” she promised.

His mouth crashed to hers, months of concern and missing her snapping what was left of his control. Link pressed his tongue to the seam of her lips. He groaned as her sweet taste filled his mouth. She’s really here. He gripped the back of her head, pulling her closer like he’d wanted to do every day since she’d been gone. He wasn’t letting her go this time.

His fingers clasped the hem of her shirt, tugging it up a few inches before he stopped. Gentle. Slow. “Is this okay?”

She kissed him again. “Yes.”

Slowly, he lifted the garment over her body, exposing a black lace bra, her hard, pink nipples poking through it.

She reached for the hem of his shirt. He helped her, pulling it over his head and letting it drop into the growing pile of clothing on the floor.

“Link?”

“What?” He panted, trying to not give in to the urge to rip the rest of her clothing off and fuck her into oblivion.
